Logan Olson Stainless Hosel Loose in Copper Head - How to Remove Hosel from Head - Suggestions for Fix

Does anyone have a phone number for Logan Olson?  I emailed him about a loose stainless hosel in copper head, but haven’t heard back, as expected. If he never gets back, as expected, any suggestions on fix. Stainless steel hosel press fit / mechanically fit in copper head. I’ve talked to Lamont Mann and Josey Mack, but they tell me to leave it to Logan. Hard, when you can’t get ahold of him. I mainly need to find out how to remove the hosel. I’ll just epoxy it back in.

Without knowing exactly how he has gone about it, I'd guess that it is screwed in from the bottom, with what looks like a little plug then put in to cover the screw head (looks like it just above your thumb in one of the pictures).

 

If you dare you could try drilling that out to get to it, but I'd probably wait for some confirmation if you can.

It doesn;t look like there is any screw of sorts to attach. I'd guess its just epoxied in.  If so, just heat and it should remove easily enough and re epoxy with shafting beads for a firm fit.

 

I had a similar issue with a Machine head a few years back and I just unscrewed the neck,(Machine necks have an obvious screw in the sole), heated it, removed the neck, cleaned it, used epoxy with shafting beads and reattached the screw after insertion and allowed it to set.  No issues after.

I’ve torched it…not epoxy. I know he used screws in his early days. I used to have one with a screw in the sole. It’s either a pin or screw. I guess it’s going to have to be drilled out to be fixed. Cu plug and refinished. So annoying that he won’t even respond to an email, but not the first time.

You can see the round copper plug on the sole - theres a screw under it. It's a press-fit piece of copper round that he ground flat after the hosel was done being installed. It needs to be drilled or machined out and the screw re-tightened - you can then replace and re-grind-flush the copper round.

I hope he fixes that for you with no nonsense. It’s a beautiful putter.

As a temporary fix...until the proud maker of a $2000 putter gets back to you, I would mix some epoxy and just fill that gap. It won't rattle once you do that.

Will have to remove the copper plug on the sole to access the screw..

 

You could take a small drill bit, drill the center of that copper plug and use an ezeout to twist it out.

Sorry, I tried to get a pic of the plug. It’s right in front of my thumb. Very faint.

Would change the look, but have you considered welding or soldering it?
