Email Notifications Abruptly Stopped Arriving

This is disappointing. 

 

I have my notifications set to send me an email after every new post on topics I'm following.  Up until yesterday morning this was working quite well, in very active threads.   Now I no longer get notification emails.

 

Can anyone help?  (No, I don't want to change my email address and start over)

And now, the notifications on the site have stopped working.  In heavily discussed topics I haven't received a notification for 22 hours.

 

Is there a GolfWRX Moderator who can help???  Please.

This is a Microsoft specific issue on how the rate mail server traffic. It may take days to resolve and will be always intermittent. It only happens with Microsoft domains. The alternative is to use any other mail domain in which many are free. 
 

Support issues should be directed towards Microsoft to ask them to improve their trust score for GolfWRX domain emails.

As you can see from this email, Microsoft will not adjust their server security mail settings. I suggest taking the issue up from a user perspective with Microsoft support and adding golfwrx to your safe sender list.  This issue is only specific to Microsoft domains.

Gxgolfer... Thank you so much for looking into this, and the effort you gave it. I certainly did experience a spike in email traffic when the LIV threads went crazy.  I appreciate your help.  Hopefully you have removed my post from the 19th hole forum.  If I switch to another email account (gmail, in this case) do I lose my history, sign up date, PMs, GIF and username?

You can try setting up an email forwarder from another account to Microsoft or go to your forum profile and change your registration email address.

I have this same problem with yahoo… @Gxgolfer

Add [email protected] to your safe list and search spam. Yahoo emails are getting through. 
 

This issue is solely with Microsoft domains.

I initially had that issue in Outlook.  Then switched over to gmail... and no more problems.  As I understand it it has to do with the unusual (high) number of emails you're sent in a short span of time.  Apparently the server doesn't like that.  Thinks you're up to no good.

There are no issues with gmail or yahoo. Any Microsoft domain will have issues.

 

Ensure [email protected] is in your safe sender list.

@Gxgolfer, I too have the outlook email issues. I might get a new address and forward as you've suggested. 

 

But first I wanted to ask...you said to add [email protected] is added to my safe senders list. Are you suggesting that the notifications are in my spam? Because I get loads of junk a day and haven't had a wrx notification come through in about 4 months. Are you also suggesting that microsoft simply doesn't allow for wrx emails to pass through their server? and not even arrive as junk?

Yes, they are blocked before they even get to you so won’t go to spam/junk folder.

 

I was fine with outlook/hotmail until I subscribed to the classified forum. Got an email for every posting there for a couple days. Then it stopped. Then a few months later the stream would restart, and a day later it stops. Repeat.

Happy to report that I added [email protected] to my safe senders list (I have outlook) and about 2ish weeks later I’m getting notifications! It was very random when it started happening again, but hey I’ll take it!

 

I ended up not making a Gmail account as I never got around to it, but glad this worked out! (For now..😉)
