I have $4000 to spend, can someone recommend me the best golf simulator?

As per the title. I have $4k play money, I really want a simulator as I'm hoping it will mean I can improve quicker without having to wait long times between shots whilst I walk around looking for my ball. Can someone suggest something. I'm not a pro, but equally not a complete novice. I don't mind blowing the full budget, perhaps even finding some more cash if you guys think its worth it, but just don't want to buy anything that's not worth it. Something without a subscription fee would also be preferred, but I'm keen to hear suggestions if you have a reason as to why it may be worth it.

My own indoor sim i'm working on will probably have a final budget around your $4k mark (mevo+, retractable impact screen mounted to ceiling, ceiling track w/ 10' tall curtains, used projector w/ ceiling mount, hitting strip, diy stance mat, new ipad, misc screws, cables, and adapters). Bubbtubbs is right that how much space you have will determine what you can get. Radar based systems need a good amount of distance between the tee area and the screen as well as the launch monitor to the tee (i.e. i have about 18' in my garage front to back). A camera based one i think only needs a couple feet just past the tee to make its calculations. Also if you're ceilings aren't tall enough you might not be able to swing your driver and/or other long clubs.

I was recently in this pickle. I wanted to play more golf and knew that a sim would provide the most convenient way to practice and make the most of my time on course. I opted for a relatively basic SkyTrak system and it has checked all of the boxes I was looking to fill. Since installing in April, I have brought my HCP down several points already and now have a fun place to practice and hang with friends for a beer. The secondary TV screen was already in the space but 70" screens can be had for $500 nowadays. For $3,769 I was able to get the setup shown below with the following equipment:

• Return net from rukket - $350
• iPad to run software along with floor stand - $435
• Hitting mat from rukket - $299
• Landing pad turf to keep ball from harming wooden floor - $150
• Big Moss Putting Green to round out the "studio" - $599
