Easy way to compare the Titleist balls - (AVX, ProV1, V1x, left dash, left dot)

But I made the switch from the left dash to the 2022 AVX after only two rounds of trying it out...although I wish I hadnt bought the yellow LOL. I honestly thought I had missed something or wondered why more people arent talking about this ball. Driver SS is 106 mph. My real concern is that I'm a...whats the next category beyond digger...but I get too much spin with the left dash on my wedges/short irons and it stinks on a course like mine with a number of false fronts. 

 

Here's what I've seen so far.

 

Driver - lost no carry distance (always my first concern) and had a couple run longer than I'm used to. Not going to claim any sort of "oh this ball is 4.2 yards longer for me off the tee" - nothing like that - I'll just say its as long if not longer and certainly not shorter for someone at my SS. No complaints in this category.

 

Irons - damn it just feels good off the irons. Lets be clear - if you dont like a softer feeling ball than this isnt for you. But compared to how the left dash feels...man. Again, if you like a clickier/harder ball, the AVX isnt for you. Overall mid/long irons still stopped with no problems on the green, I'd say about what the left dash is.

 

Wedges - oddly enough, I still get the same amount of spin as the left dash. It wasnt some magic bullet for me, I sucked a few back off the greens like I normally do. So...dont know what to say here. Chipping wise again, its not like the ball ran for miles, I think it essentially performed the same for me.

 

Putting - again, a nice soft feel. Depends on what you are looking for.

 

My honest assessment is that to me this is almost like a left dash with a softer feeling cover - but with everything else the same under the hood. Now admittedly, I am not a player that cares how much the ball costs because I dont lose a lot and to me its not worth finding a dollar or two difference per ball when I still spend a lot on golf/equipment anyway. So I'm not going to shop around between three piece balls.

 

Dont know what else to say - this is a pretty damn good ball.

The formula for the AVX must've changed then.  I tested the 2019/2020 AVX and it launched 2* lower than the left dash and balls would hit the green and roll off minus wedges in normal conditions.  I think Titlest touted the '22 AVX as having more spin with wedges and in though.
