Became kind of useless the last couple of years but wonder what other discount cards will be discontinued. Im in town the 9th to 15th so looks like Ill try to make a couple of days playing 36 there

This is a bummer. I hadn’t bought in a couple years since rates were very high even with the card and hard to find any tee times. Still not an encouraging sign for the coming winter.

When I played there in June the couple I talked to said it was even more difficult to use even as a twosome compared to previous years. They even had friends that asked for a refund after not being able to get a tee time for 4 months in a row.

Yeah, in its current iteration it was worthless.  Selling them was like selling snow cone vouchers to the snow cone shop that shut down last year.  Both had zero % chance of being useful.  Nice problem to have...unless you are a local golfer.  It is understandable but disappointing how the local golfer in PHX has been largely overlooked over the past few seasons.

I had the pass this spring. I just barely got enough savings out of it to pay for itself.

 

As a single, there was usually at least one tee time per day available. The problem was that, with one exception, every threesome I was paired with was from out-of-town. Not really conducive to meeting local players. On the eighteenth green we're shaking hands and saying "see you again" but, no, I'm never seeing you again.

 

I think I'll get the Troon pass this winter and play at Phoenician. I believe there is more local play there.
