Designed by Cleveland putter

Just picked up a Designed by Cleveland putter that I intend to play with. Do you think I should get it refinished? Any mod suggestions?

For what these are worth a refinish isn't worth it as you'll never get your money back and spending more on a refinish vs the cost of a putter is just crazy I think. 

 

You can do some simple stuff at home like take some metal polish to it if you want to shine it up, just don't touch the top line if you don't like a shiny putter. Can also do paint to make it pop a bit as well. But they're plain putters, nothing fancy or special

Great putter and not in bad shape to demand a refinish.  I believe these to be an improvement over a 8802 and a true tribute to the Designed by Arnold Palmer.    There are rare models of this BiNi and MrBr.  Enjoy it.

It doesn't NEED a refinish...but you want do whatever you want with it. Torch it. Coat it. Paint it. Leave it. Totally up to you.

Thanks all. Would that putter be considered BeCu? I've seen these terms thrown around but I'm not sure what they refer to.

I bought a beater putter to refinish and I would add “bend it with your foot to try out different lie angles” as well.

Your putter does not seem to be the BeCu/Copper.  I have not seen BeCu ever written on the Copper like the BiNi has it denoted.

BeCu is the chemical name for Beryllium Copper compound. BeNi is Beryllium Nickel compound.

This is a BeCu Cleveland Designed by putter.  This was a putter made by Cleveland Golf in the mid/late 1980s and was a limited number run.  It was cast with Beryllium Copper which isn’t used now due to environmental concerns.
