Mmt 105 TX vs X100

Probably been asked before but couldn’t see anything on it!

as I’m getting older and the elbows and shoulders catch up to me from years of abuse I’m looking for something that’s easier on the joints, and a bit less weight.

currently gaming x100 (130 g) in my tc-201’s, and very happy with performance, feel etc.

would Mmt 105 tx be a lighter, graphite, comparable?

Yes, but IMO too light, MMT 105 TX is 113g. I switched from PX about 4yrs back to composite, tested a slew of shafts too. Switching from 130 gram shafts to composite, only drop about 10-12 grams, maybe 15. I currently play MMT 125s in 5-LW, and going lighter soon.

MMT 125TX was designed to mimic the X100 profile in terms of launch and spin. I have to agree as I have them in my irons and have previously had the X100 in my bag a long time ago. MMT 105TX plays exactly like the 125TX except that it's lighter in weight.

Thank you both, that sounds like exactly what I’m after. I was in lighter DG prior to my x100, and although I swing hard (pretty aggressive and got speed) I’m not sure that I love heavy weight shafts. I do love the profile and the stiffness to reduce the hooks however, so MMT105 sounds like the unicorn I’m after.

Mmt 105tx flies much higher than x100. In my tests, if you have a heavy shaft loading it flies even higher. Very consistent though and feel is stable, not weak at all. If you launch lower than you'd like but have good speed and want lighter this should be on the radar. If you want x100(Low launch) but lighter and graphite this isn't it.

I have the MMT 125TX and it launches just a touch higher than X100. I've tested the MMT 105TX and found it to launch higher than the MMT 125TX/X100 but that's probably due to me adding more dynamic loft overall due to the lighter weight.
