Titleist TSR1 rollout date?

Recommended Posts

I know that this Titleist driver head is only of interest to the subset of GolfWRX readers who are seniors with sub-90 mph swing speed; but now that the TSR2/3/4 have been on the market for awhile, does anyone have knowledge/insight as to when we might see the TSR1 intro?

I was at Golf Galaxy and one of the guys who is a Titleist ambassador said the TSR1 fairways would be coming out in March (along with additional options for LH like a TSR2 7 wood option).

They are releasing these alongside the new iteration of hybrids and irons. I don’t know if the driver is coming out at the same time too, but a reasonable assumption.

I know Golf Galaxy gets a bad rap but this guy’s a good fitter and very knowledgeable and was in Cali a few weeks back for fittings and product training.

Should be late January launch. Actual PAR date probably late Mid to late Feb.

As a low speed (que sad violin music), low spin guy, im really interested to try this. Im hopeful that Titleist will offer the 9* head for wrong handers.

I haven't heard anything about the shaft/hand optons.  I do know they always make LH optons, but not in all lofts, I would think 9* is so widely used, they would have it.

Some will say the ligher head.   But I had a buddy put his Tensei White (I think) in mine and he was killing it.  He did comment a bit on not quite feeling the clubhead like he does on his TSR, but he wasn't too far off his normal numbers.

Nelly Korda seems to do ok with it as well 🙂

anyone with experience with the TSI1 - how does that compare to something like the Ping G400 max or 425 max driver?

It took me about 1 round with the G425 to kow it couldn't compete with my TSi1, and I moved on from it.   Not even close.   Haven't had the 400 Max for probably 5 years or more.   So can't say on that.

What did you like about the TSi1? Also noticed you moved on to the TSR2?

When is the PGA Merchandise Show?  Last week of January?  Callaway, TM and Ping will release their new gear a week or two after the show.  Titleist will probably do the same.

Everything overall staring with looks and sound.  Judy much more pleasing on both.
Then of curse distance the TSi1 is much lighter/shaft is part of that but the head as well.   So I was a bit quicker with it.    And despite the increased CHS. It was probably the straightest driver I had hit in years.
Yep. I did get the TSR2.  I get the new model each release.  So as long as I don’t lose yards or accuracy with it. I’ll play it.

They will be taking preorders soon/now.  I had a fitting session at Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson with a Titleist Rep, and hit the first TSR 1 head in all of AZ--fresh out of the wrapper !

With the 10 degree head I gained 4 mph swing speed and about 10 yards compared with my older first generation 10.5 degree TS1 using my own Fujikura 40 Gm Air Speeder (R) at B-1 in both. I tried several other shafts, none of which topped the Air Speeder.  Notably dispersion tightened with the TSR 1 head significantly.   I then tried other shafts including the Air Speeder in a TSR 2 head with no distance gains, but again, tighter dispersion.  Unsure what stock shafts will be offered for TSR 1, but I can always put my tried and true Air Speeder in the new head.  I'm sold and you will be too if you have a slow to moderate swing speed.
