Agreed, should be interesting. My hope is they realized their mistake and return the Apex Pro irons to what they always had been, meaning a multi-material forged players cb with a Tour-like profile. Basically the Callaway version of Titleist T100/T100-S, although I don’t know if any company can make an iron that’s equal to what T100 series is.

I actually had two 7 irons and would either play 8 thru wedge in muscle back or 7 thru wedge....I kind of preferred 7 thru wedge.

I have a fitting today and will hit both.

 

Part of me loves the idea of having the combo. But the other part of me doesn’t know why I would put myself through MBs on off days when the TCBs would be more forgiving and produce similar spin and control.

 

I am coming from Apex 21s and have been rapidly improving my game and ball striking. The person I take lessons with is really pushing the combo set and insists my ball striking can handle the demands of both clubs. In the back of my head I’m still the awful ball striker I was 2 years ago and don’t feel adequate to move to such demanding clubs, especially the MBs.

 

4 iron in the TCB is fine, wouldn't really bother me if I had gone full set of MB's to be honest. The TCB does give a bit more room for error I suppose if I am using if from the tee

I didn’t think I would be this conflicted. The MB is such a solid good feeling club. The idea of having a 7 iron in both is interesting. I suppose no matter what I decide can always get get one or 2 irons later to change the set. Part of me is thinking MB AW-6 and TCB 5-4. But my OCD does like the idea of 4 irons of each.

Hello fellow golfers,

 

I posted quite a while ago.  I have the TCB's and the combo Apex 21/apex 21 pro.  After many experiments (really, many) my set of choice, for me...apex 21, 6 and 7, apex 21 pro 8,9,p,A....4 iron Taylormade P790, no 5 iron, apex big bertha 4 hybrid...

 

For some reason I hit the TCB 5 iron the best, but alas, I get the same distance out of the apex 21 6 iron..Big Bertha B 21 Driver, Rosie (no S) putter.  

 

I have tried out 7 sets of irons in the last 2 years.  Ping, IMO, no feel, Taylormade, the scoring irons feel like shovels, PXG Blades, very sweet, but too short and less forgiving.

 

A forged solid blade, cavity back seems to suit me best.  BUT, I need a hollow body in my 4 for the distance...

 

I love the TCB's but I simply don't have the game for it...I'll be 73...so...
