Garmin R10 Vs Radsodo MLM 2 Pro

Recommended Posts

New home gamer here! Just recently set up a collapsible / movable garage sim.

Almost waited for MLM 2 Pro, but Garmins are available used and it seemed like the first place to start. Now that MLM 2 Pro reviews are strolling flow out, been researching this like a maniac and debating the upgrade.

From what I have gathered so far…

Price: R10

• $499 price point

• No subscription required

• E6 lite package included

• No subscription

• used for $450 or less and most include the $40 leveling stand at that price

Accuracy: MLM2 Pro

• People putting it up against $3,000+ units and it’s within 1% or better accuracy

R10 Short Comings:

• Leveling stand required

• RCT balls strongly suggested

• Awesome golf strongly suggested

• graphics in Garmin Golf app are Mario Golf level

MLM2 Pro Shortcomings:

• $200 year subscription required

• Additional $300+ required for a good sim (E6 not included)

•Only 1 ball choice right now and limited supply

R10 Pro:

• Within 3-4% accuracy of GC Quad. Amazing accuracy to cost ratio

• e6 included

• lots of free features

• very portable

• Compatible with 4 Titleist balls

MLM 2 Pro:

• absolutely best accuracy for sub $1000

• More data capture and less algorithms - peace of mind your shots are reading correctly and accurately

If they come out with GSPro support, I will be getting one as fast as possible   😀

Someone will make a patch?

I am sort of the other way. If there was a way to way to get GSPro running on iPad Pro, I’d be all over it. A gaming PCs is one of those deal breakers in terms of commitment for where I am right now with DIY sim usage / commitment

I’m a software guy and had a pc sitting around. 220 on a graphics card (Nvidia 1560) was all I had to add. GSPRO is so good. It gives the best ground interaction physics of all of them. Ball below your feet and it goes right. Opposite for ball above your feet. So you have to take all that into account. Here’s hoping they get it on iPad in the future for those on that platform.

Side by side with the Driver. General summary:

• both units accurate with specialized balls

• Garmin harder to setup

• Rapsodo has more accurate swing speed, but awesome Golf gets the distance right with either unit

Another set of comparisons…

both do Incredibly well for the price

interestingly, the native Garmin app does shot shape better than Awesome Golf. Never would have guessed…

Basically seems like these are the couple main decision points:

1. Overall up front cost

2. Paying a recurring fee

3. How much spin axis matters to you

Not sure the Garmin App did better than the Rapsodo on shot shape just seemed to do better than the Awesome Golf app in the very small sample of shots David Maxfield hit.

Yes, that is exactly what I meant.

Everybody was raving that you needed Awesome Golf for R10 and I would beg to differ now.

I completely see how my original post was not clear.

"allow" isn't the right word. It's more that they use the camera to read the dots to calculate spin.

Some people have said MLM 2 Pro reads spin on range balls out doors. Are you looking for indoor or outdoor use?

i have a Garmin R10 that I mainly use at the range for simulated games. It’s ok but it takes a painstaking amount of trial and error to get it to work correctly. It also measures 10-15 short (im not a long hitter but know my ranges). So was wondering it MLM Pro could be a more accurate outdoors range sim

a friend of mine has the garmin and he claims it doesn't do well on the range w/ regular turf FWIW
