Lead tape on putter idea

I want to increase my putter weight, and it doesn't have adjustable weights. Has anyone experimented with putting lead tape strictly on the toe, or heel side of a putter? Much like slidable weights on drivers can help with keeping the face from closing, or opening, will it work with a putter? I've read various topics, and never seen this question answered. When I miss hit a putt, it's 100% toe side of center, and my misses are usually a slight push. Would lead tape on the heel side hold the face a little from twisting on the toe strike? I'm thinking of trying it, but thought I'd ask as well.

ps.... putting is a strength of my game, and my goal every round is to be below 30. Trying to improve incrementally, and curious about this, since I'm not super technical

You'd need to add an absurd amount of lead tape to move the COG to change the toe hang of a putter to the point it's not worth it.

Thanks for the reply. I put about 12 grams on. I first put it behind the face all towards the heel. Maybe it's subconscious, but it seemed more balanced and felt better when I moved it far back in the middle. Maybe it's more than super high MOI now ha. It's very solid feeling, so it was good to experiment. I also like that I didn't have to put it on the sole, and I don't see it at address

Toe-hang is generally the product of the angle the shaft enters the head, so the shaft pointing to the center (and close to the face) will result in a face-up balance.

Adding weight will move the CoG, but even on much lighter driver heads it moves millimeters. You'd have to put a relative anvil to move toe-hang.

You generally want to align the weight with your strike pattern, plonking it in the heel when you're a toe striker would be illogical if you were a robot, but I'd assume you're human, so if it feels better roll with it.

I’ve done this and it actually works. I have a plumbers neck and have placed them right behind the face in the slot where the company logo would be. You can feel the head weight more which is nice.
