Am I swinging too much from the inside?

So I went to the range and tried doing the opposite pattern, this is what the swing looks like.  First few shots were big hooks but after maybe 5-10 wedge shots really focusing on the "malaska move/feel" of tipping the club out it started to feel better.  Seems a lot easier to repeat...

Thoughts on these?

My concern is with the fact that is very little actually different here. You've moved the problem by degrees, not solved it:



You got the club marginally less stuck behind you via this move applied as a bandaid, and after still dropping your hands way too far behind you. This is the next hurdle because there is nothing even close to "opposite" happening above, so you need to ask yourself what you thought you were trying to do and why it resulted in almost no change. Again the forensics are there; if your ball starts straight and immediately veers left then you came too far from the inside and you haven't effectively changed anything. Those first 5-10 balls were telling you exactly what you needed to know, because focusing on applying a move *on top* of a swing that is producing those hooks isn't fixing anything and you're just finding ways to compensate on the range. 

Out of curiosity, i'd love to see you try something (up to you whether you want to). With this swing you're making now, i'd love to see one "normal" shot with what you feel like is a stock swing (doesn't matter where the all goes), then a series a 5 shots of you attempting to hit a strong fade, like you're being around a dogleg right. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you ended up neutralizing your path by doing this and it would be a useful experiment.

Most mechanical problems are caused by conceptual problems and people mask mechanical flaws with effort. 

 

For some reason your concept is to swing the club linearly in front of you. You can create more force swinging the club in a circle around you than a line in front of you. 

 

Simplistically speaking the swing is like whirling a ball on a string in orbit around your hand.

 

You're never going to maximize your expectations by forcing the club on a vertical plane instead of whirling it on the inclined plane. The plane between the base of the neck and the ball.

Right on with the excessive left tilt. Getting the shoulders to turn on the proper plane isn't as complicated as the AMG guy describes it.

Good point of view.  Whatever is lost will need to be restored at some point, and major restoration projects are best left to professionals.

update, here are a couple DTL swings where I am focusing on 2 things.  1) not locking out my right leg, & 2) trying to have a neutral club head path with a neutral or fading ball flight

Yeah def, tbh though it feels pretty much the same as before, just my intention is different.  The main difference I felt was almost waiting or slowing my rotation down a hair so my arms could catch back up...so idk haha
