Help with two way miss (steep/loss of posture in downswing)

Hi All -

Thanks in advance for any help here. Some quick background - I used to play in high school ~15 years ago and was at my best a 5ish handicap. Since then I probably play maybe 1-3 times a year with minimal practice. Starting to get fully back into the game and just feeling a bit lost, especially with the driver swing. Main miss is a big pull hook left and block right which just kills confidence mid round. It's especially worse on driver.

Been working on trying to rotate / stay in posture on my downswing more but with minimal success so far. Posted a few videos of irons/driver (unfortunately don't have a face-on driver video). Thanks again!

Where do you feel the weight is in your feet at setup?

I would generally say a bit more towards my heels - although this evening at the range I was working on standing a bit taller/closer with the shaft being more vertical at address, which I think felt a bit more centered/maybe even on the toes.

With the driver I just feel lost in my stance, I think it looks awful on video and no matter what I try it doesn't seem to look much better.

I'd agree, and encourage you to move the weight more toward the front of the arch or the heel side of the balls of your feet.

Too close at address, way in the heels, need to lose some flex in right knee in backswing.

All "tips" are welcome. Instruction not desired.

Use your athletic ability, you don't need a lot of elaborate motion going on. You want to get the energy out of you and into the clubhead not wasting it by trying to maintain your balance.

Extend your right knee going back, you want to feel most of your body weight is supported and balanced on your right leg and hip. When you walk you extend your knees as you step to support yourself.

Also, relax your right arm. It folds too late going back and unfolds too early coming down. You're never seen a pitcher throw fast with a tight, tense arm.

The root of the issue is that your right hand grip is very weak. You’re in trouble below and it starts with the grip.

It’s likely that you’ve learned to throw the clubhead across the ball to help square the face. The club needs work more behind you in the downswing, but that will be very difficult with your current right hand grip.

Thanks for all the replies so far - I appreciate it and will work on / look at some of the things mentioned.

I think ideally I'd just hit a small draw but at this point I'd take anything that would be more consistent.

Pick one and then work on gett8ng that flight down. Many others have commented on some big flaws you need to correct or you'll continue to struggle regardless of the flight you choose.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
