Getting worse after lessons?

Just stick with it. I would wait at least a full season before you can fully integrate a swing change.

You should never get worse after a lesson but you should be inconsistent for a while.  As you ingrain a new pattern you will hit a lot of bad shots and gradually you should start hitting more good shots.  But in the bad days early on, you should still be hitting some that are really good.  By good I mean shots that are solid or if you are used to missing left, start a little right etc.  Basically if you are having the opposite miss you are on the right track.

 

FWIW I had a clinic lesson back in February, and I'm still struggling at times.  Some days are really good, others are very up and down but overall trend is positive.

For the general masses, scores on course can absolutely worsen after a lesson.
 

As a plus it’s a little different. 99% of the time our lessons and changes are just minor adjustments as opposed to actual swing changes.

Took a few lessons from an amazing instructor, changed some things, made a ton of sense, during the lesson, hitting the ball like never before with great accuracy, speed, etc.

 

when I leave and hit the course (sparingly) this year, it’s like I never played before. Slicing, massive loss in distance. 
 

I am beyond confused as well as everyone I play with

 

i am beyond stressed and unsure what to do at the moment because this is ruining the game I love and it’s extremely stressful to be going backwards at a rapid pace.
