GPS WATCH OR ALTERNATIVE

Been thinking about the Shotscope X but Im seeing lots of bad reviews on it. Have they updated and fixed the issues with it and is it worth it or should I look at something else? No arrcos as I'm not paying subscription. I have a Garmin Vivoactive 3 that I use but I have issues with it as well plus it lacks functions. So would love to hear what is the better route?

I have been using the Garmin S60 for a few years and find it very reliable. It gives front/middle/back distance and center of green. You can also set the pin if you can see where on the green it is. Color graphics allow distance to hazards, end of fairway and corners. I also have a laser for those times when I can't see the pin position, but even then, I use my watch to choose the landing zone. I have told many people it is the best money I have ever spent on golf. And the best thing..... I never forget it on the cart when I leave!!

GPS is valuable these days, but a Laser can be too.  I am fortunate to use both as I play numerous courses that I am not familiar with. 

 

I wear a Garmin Fenix 6x sapphire 24/7, and carry a Garmin Approach Z82 Laser in the bag, it has GPS as well.  I use the Fenix watch for general yardages, but for Par 3s and blind or long shots to pins then Approach Z82 picks up the slack.  Z82 uses GPS to find and measure to blind pins, plus has full hole detailed images showing yardages to key spots and hazards, and it's great for targeting layup yardages.   If I were to suggest one, it would be Z82, but both can be found in great used condition.

I use a RF as Well but it's a cool shot ii so no GPS on it. My vivo 3 would be same as your Fenix as far as Golf goes.
