Private Clubs near Hoboken, NJ: Executive Memberships

Hi Everyone,

 

Have done some searching through here and haven't gotten any definitive answers so figured I would just ask myself. I'm 26 and live in Hoboken. Recently I've gotten interested in becoming a member somewhere, as the public course experience in Northern NJ has gotten pretty miserable the last few years. Can anyone provide some recommendations on clubs in the area with executive memberships that won't break the bank (preferably less than $20k)? I prefer to carry my own bag, so not being required to take out a caddy is definitely a plus - not sure whether or not that's a realistic ask.

Forest Hill Field Club was a popular choice when I lived in Hoboken and don't think it is too expensive. Upper Montclair is solid as well drive wise, though a bit pricier for sure.

I know it is not private (although it used to be), check out Rock Spring Golf Club.

Their season pass is $5800 with a $950 cart option, putting you well below your $20k.

I’m a member at Watchung Valley. They have a killer young member program and like 2/3 of the membership is under 45. Really young place and lots of Hoboken folks.

Seems like these two courses are mentioned in a lot of the other similar posts here. Any idea on what the pricing might be around? Do they require caddies to play?

Upper Montclair I am almost positive requires caddies. Forest Hill not sure.
