Authenticity Check - Scotty Cameron California Monterey Putter

Hey Everyone,

 

looking to get your expertise in confirming whether this scotty is authentic or fake.

i checked the archives and also other posts from my google searches but it was difficult to determine.

visually it looks and feels of quality but im being thrown off by the thick font.

the putter itself has some weight to it and feels good in the hand.

It’s an odd shade of grey.   Should it not have had the oil finish since it’s from the year with the bird over Sun on the sole?

Need a better bottom shot, but it looks off and fake from the metal color as noted above.

thanks for reviewing! i uploaded some better pictures, i think the lighting in the prior set was poor. 

there is a slight hint of that copper/honey/bronze colour but in the archives it looks way more intense.

hey T Mac thanks for the input. could you elaborate on what pointers you have identified to state that it's fake. just want to know for reference. thank you!

Sun and Moon are off, the font on the engraving is off, the "wave" on the sole is off, the face milling is wrong, the finish is wrong / garbage, the grip is fake, the color / finish is wrong, the headshape is off, etc......
The only thing that looks halfway decent is the shaftband.

What stands out most to me is the spacing between the C and the A on the face. And the dotting of the i’s in the cavity.

Please void what I just said…looked it up online and the CA spacing seems fine and it could just be the bad paint job on the cavity that makes it seem weird. 😅

The thickness of the font is pretty bad on this one. It’s usually pretty easy to tell a fake by the shape inside the R’s and A’s when you zoom in

That's a fake- titleist script in the pocket is off

I was going to say it looks like it’s been badly refinished and someone’s applied too much paint to it compared to mine. The biggest tell is what is the serial code, it’s on the back of the shaft just below the grip.
