Congrats on the new Miura putter, that's a beauty!

The 230's are sweet, but the WIlson do look cool. Tough choices

I have had the Miura for a while just took it out of the bag actually!

The Cb's right now from Wilson go shorter for sure but more consistent through my testing. The i230's honestly are pretty pure i'm a fan no doubt.

Nice stuff and I want to ask your opinion on this. How would the Jones Trooper do on a riding cart? I am not able to walk but like the size and ease of handling of a stand bag. I do not carry much stuff but would like it user friendly as far as pocket access etc. And I hat cart bags too bulky and ugly for me. If I were to go the cart bag I already have 3 mini staff bags and they are smaller and less bulkier than the cart bags.

Driver--- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha--- Speeder 565 R flex

Ya no issue, so for myself i'm apart of push cart mafia, I rarely carry anymore. I find the pockets are very manageable and the cooler front pocket is elite for water and keeping anything else cold. I'd go with a darker colour so it doesn't get dirty.

Update

Miura has now been sold, have a Scotty Cameron Special Select Jet Set Newport 2 Plus as a blade gamer on the way. Might swap the shaft and grip on it and keep the originals but looking in to the KBS GPS putter shaft and throwing on a Super Stoke 2.0 claw grip to match my PLD Oslo

Nice bag and nice to see some more local equipment junkies.

Also interesting the Dynapower won out for your driver considering what else is on the market and your Ping heavy bag.

I also agree with the 2 clubs that overlap up top, the GTA courses is always a gamble on how they could be condition wise and weather wise.

Love gear just got some new ferrules for my next set of irons. I actually work at a GT locally here so Ping offers one of the best discounts so was an easy choice. Wilson, Srixon and Cobra all offer good discounts for me. The Dynapower just felt best to me and had good numbers.

What local courses do you play ?

If I got some good Ping discounts I'd probably be playing a lot more of it as well. That's fair for a driver, really all you want they're all good these days honestly.

I'm in Etobicoke so play more of the west GTA courses, play Centennial a lot cause cheap men's league but honestly anywhere decent and my friends want to play. Sadly they don't want to play as much as me.

It useful for short game for sure.

Gotcha I haven't played much in Milton and Oakville this year, have in the past. Honestly as long as it's not in the city I'll go play it cause I just like playing.

If you like short tracks check out Turnberry, Derrydale and like Millcroft

I've played Turnberry before, haven't played the other 2. But I've played a ton of short courses this year my long game which is my strength has weakened a bit.

Good to get a healthy mix in for variety. A personal favourite of mine is Pipers Heath and Woodington Lakes. I find you have to think more throughout the course.

I like those as well and yeah I like variety and thinking courses not ones where it's all punishing and accurate tee shots necessary.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have finally added the Taylormade BRNR mini in the bag. Slotting it in as a 3 wood replacement taking out the G430 max. Just find it to be way better off the tee and having the adjustable weights helps me play in different types of weather. Most days when it's windy I'll play weight forward or the 3 iron off the tee. Got an absolute steal on the Ventus Velocore black shaft.

Overall makes the gapping so good from my Dynapower Carbon, BRNR mini, TMB and 7 wood.

Just picked up a new bag as well. The good old Jones Troopers legs were giving out and honestly wanted more room in the bag. Ended up with the Sun Mountain 4.5 14 way bag. This bag is unbelievable, I cannot say enough good things about it. The amount of space and quality is truly top tier.

Wanted to also show love to the headcovers on my bag. Spent a lot of my life in Saskatchewan, so supporting a local brand " PLYR " golf was a no brainer with the Sask flag cover. Next up is my Dormie "Tokey the 🐻" head cover. Another Canadian company that has amazing quality. Lastly I have the Brnr headcover on, pound for pound the best headcover that comes stock with a club.

Was playing around with some club building at work. Put together a combo that I normally wouldn't play but thought why not give it a go.

So the 7 iron numbers on the trackman for my Ping i230 w/ project X io 6.0. Good numbers but I found I have a bit of a two way miss and my consistency with them is fine but sometimes it doesn't click for me.

The second photo is the numbers from my couple swings with my experimental Wilson Staff Modal Blade w/ DG x100 shaft. Even though it's a small sample I found I am able to play these clubs and honestly prefer it. From the looks and feels they are incredible.

Really leaning towards a combo set in the new year of Wilson CB's 4-6, MB's 7-PW. Would most likely keep my Titleist TMB 3 iron in the bag as I just swapped shafts and now have a Tour AD Di 105x in it.
