Going to Nashville, TN for SB

Which courses should I look into?

Some buddies and I are heading down to Nashville for our Spring Break and are looking for some courses to play. So far we have Hermitage Golf Courses and Legends Club down for places to play. How are these courses and do you have any other suggestions, private and or public? Thanks,

Hermitage is a must play and Springhouse is a must not. I just think the Hermitage courses offer more personality than Springhouse...I found it dull and boring and the routing can almost get you killed in a couple of spots.

Hermitage Presidents Reserve is a must. That course is nice and I have never played it when it was in bad condition. The Legacy Golf Course in Springfield, TN is pretty nice too. I haven't played it since summer though. Another one of my favorites is Greystone GC in Dickson, TN. Those are my 3 favorite courses that are open to the public in the area. not a problem brother. I just got back my from spring break trip. Played the Robert Trent Jones Trail in Alabama. unfortunately, tomorrow college resumes.

I'm a member at Hermitage and love both courses there. Legacy in Springfield is worth the drive and moderately priced - a real tough test.

If you want to go cheap, try Ted Rhodes or Harpeth Hills, the two best city courses. A 30 min drive will get you to Murfreesboro and Old Fort G.C. They played 1st stage PGA qual. in the past, renovated about four years ago I think.

Hermitage is well worth the play. I have played both courses there and loved them both. As was said above Springhouse is overrated IMO. I have played there a couple of times and I really don't see anything about it that is really special.

Belle Mead CC and Golf Club of TN would be nice if you have some connections... :)

I was thinking Harpeth Hills as well. Good course easy location. Legends is overrated IMO - I always feel like they tried to cram 18 holes where 16 would have fit nicely. We played it a few times when looking at clubs and ended up elsewhere.

 

I don't know if they are still in decent shape with the state taking them over, but the Bear Trace in Winchester has always been a favorite of mine - about 2 hours away.

In a word... Don't!!!! You're better off going two hrs. the opposite direction to the Bear Trace at Ross Creek. It is probably the best state course.

Thanks guys for all the help and info! akaone thanks again for the offer but it turns out that we already have three courses picked out for the two days we are going to be there. We are going to play both the Hermitage courses the first day and one of the Legends Club courses the second. Thanks again,
