Alphard Golf V2 with Omnicart

Hi all,

 

Looking at picking up an electric trolly before next season. I've used the Alphard Club Booster V2 and had a great experience with it, but I don't have the Clicgear any longer.

 

Has anyone used the Omnicart that Alphard sells? I like that it has a swivel front wheel and I wouldn't have to purchase the brackets or wheel conversion kit. But, I don't know how the quality is or durability is compared to the Clicgear.

I bought a used Alphard V1 with a Rovic cart, and it’s the best purchase of golf equipment I’ve ever made. And the longest I’ve ever kept!
 

I can’t help you as far as Alphard’s cart, but it looks similar to the Clicgear Rovic. Maybe made by them?

Clicgear and Alphard are owned by the same parent company, so it's likely that the Omnicart is made by them.

Just a personal view - YMMV....

 

I was one of the original people involved with the kickstart campaign for the Alphard V2. Last year was a non walking year due to Plantar fasciitis which I've overcome with well fitting footwear and inserts.

 

So I'm back to the Alphard V2 attached to a Rovic swivel front wheel cart. The original setup was a Clicgear 8.0 that started out with a solid front axle which I switched to the swivel - just a whole lot of messing about until I got the Rovic.

 

My walking prompted one of my foursome to buy the the more expensive MGI Quad Navigator.  I played 16 times in December 2023 and used the Alphard 15 times. The pro on the MGI is a smaller collapsed footprint when packing it back in the car. The Alphard w/Rovic is definitely more "arms & legs" but a plastic tub that can carry the collapsed wheels and balancing the collapsed Rovic on top, puts paid to that. When you cannot gently hose off your equipment, you don't want a wet, grass covered cart in your car. Neither Alphard or MGI recommend hosing off, but it's doable if done very carefully. A microfiber towel takes care of everything that the hose cannot.

 

Probably takes me 7-10 minutes from getting out of the car to walking to the clubhouse for the Alphard. My buddy with his MGI takes 5-7 minutes. However, the wider wheelbase and stability means I'm riding up and down hills and across slopes that he can only dream about. Our courses are very hilly and tee boxes are elevated.

 

I tried and discarded the follow me feature on the Alphard - much prefer to have it out on front of me and never have a problem guiding it alongside or around greens whilst I walk directly to the next tee box.

 

One major advantage during the winter months is the ability to walk directly to your ball. When it's carts on path only, the electric cart comes into it;s own.

 

I'm still on the original battery, which I detach and charge in the house - I easily get 18 holes in, and on one occasion I played 27. I would not push one battery to 36 holes.

 

Oh - and I dropped 20 lbs - walking 8+ miles per round will do that to you.
