2024 Electric Trolley / Cart with Follow Mode

Just wanted to start a discussion about the 2024 options for an electric cart with follow capability.  I have a MGI Zip Navigator AT and think it's the best option of remote controlled driving.  

 

I tried a Stewart Q follow last year, but by the 14th hole on the first round...it quit following me and the remote driving isn't anywhere as easy as the MGI.  I see rave reviews on the Stewart products, but I had a short return window and didn't want to gamble on such an expensive product.  Maybe I had a lemon...???

 

Anybody have knowledge of any follow carts coming out in 2024?

No idea about upcoming products but I have the MGI and my playing partner has the Stewart follow. 
 

The Stewart does not seem well built, especially how the battery connects to the unit. My buddy is always having issues with the remote or the unit in general. He has said numerous times if he uses the follow feature too much the remote will die before the end of the round. 
 

I know he paid about $1k more than I did. 
 

My advice, be happy with what you have.

A friend of mine just got a Caddietrek R2 for Christmas.  Nice looking cart. It works on radio frequency not Bluetooth.  When I see him on Monday I'll get a review for you. 

 

I have the Stewart X9 Follow. After many years I've not had any problems.  I walk 18 in follow mode and it can easily go 9 more on the battery.  It does turn very quickly when in remote mode. But I always use follow.  I leave the battery plugged in to the charger 24/7.  It only takes a few hours to charge after 18 holes. 

 

I also have a Stewart Vertx.  No follow mode. It turns much smoother then the X9.  Excellent cart. The only con to the Vertx is it not the Q model with Follow!

Not to be that guy, but Bluetooth is a radio frequency communication protocol.

Well there is a difference in the 2 when used in follow mode.  The Stewart is 360 degrees around the cart.   The Caddietrek is unidirectional to the remote. You have to stand in front of that cart to get it to follow.  The Stewart will start following no matter where you are standing in relation to the cart.

Most likely has to do with the type of antenna used - omni-directional vs. directional.  All wireless communication protocols are radio frequency - WiFi, cellular, Bluetooth, etc.  Bluetooth in its most common form is used only for short distances vs. the others.
