San Antonio end of March?

Is the weather really 85 degrees during that time? Looking at a few websites it’s showing pretty high temps…

I have been to San Antonio twice but only for work. Looking to stay at the JW, what are the rates for guests of the JW at TPC?

the pool caught my attention for the family… is it a nice property? Thanks in advance!

You are looking at a couple hundred bucks for the canyon and a hundred or so more for the oaks. IMO canyon is not worth the money. Oaks is cool and in great shape during the spring as the Texas open is coming through. This facility is the classic example of sinking the mass majority of resources into the jewel and leaving the other course in less than ideal condition.

I would def checks dates with clubhouse as they may have the oaks shut down in the weeks leading up to the open. If it’s after the open it’s cool to play the course with the tournament infrastructure still in place.

overall the pool and restaurants are great and it’s a great place so spend a long weekend with the family.

edit: forgot to address the weather. Could be 85 and could be 40. Generally

you will catch both if you are in Texas for a long weekend. 😂 It will definitely never be to cold to golf in Texas at that time.

End of march high temps will range from extremes like upper 40s to 100. I would expect 65-80.

JW resort is great and the Oaks course will close 2 weeks prior to the VTO. I will disagree with comment above, the Canyons is fantastic and is always in great in as great of shape as Oaks. People may get a different perception in winter/spring because Canyons does not get oversewed like Oaks.

In summer and fall they will be in the same conditions with both being on active bermuda!

I took the family there for Spring Break back in in 2013 - third week of March, and we had a few days of 75 and sunny, and others were between 40-55 making the pool and facilities a no go.  One thing to also mention, the wind was quite severe there when one of days I played the Oaks - I have a picture of the pin on 10 being bent almost 45 degrees with the gusts.

With all of this said, despite the weather, we had a great week.  Given all there is to do in the city, Alamo, Riverwalk, Spurs Game, we really enjoyed it.  I am lifetime Marriott Platinum member and have stayed in many JWs, and this one was one of the best.

Great feedback, I am also Platinum with Marriott... as much as I hate to admit that, just means I travel too much for work ha ha.

The pool is the main reason for us to go... honestly if we run into that weather, I am going to get crushed. We went to AZ, in 2022 and the weather was a high of 55... great for golf but the pool, not so much.

Is the pool heated?  I'm 200 miles north of San Antonio but we don't plan on getting in our pool until late May.

Good question, not sure…

it looks like the practice facility is close to the resort as well, so that’s a huge thumbs up. It’s hard finding places to practice at resorts
