Platform for Outdoor Mat

Not sure if this is the right sub forum but here goes.

I ordered a new matt for my backyard net, and am looking for ideas for some sort of platform to build to keep it level, and sturdy.

But I'm not sure how to go about it because I don't want it to feel or sound like I'm hitting off of plywood 🤦‍♂️

The matt is decently thick at 22mm, any suggestions?

I built a mat for my daughter to use in the garage, used some thin plywood and the stiff foam garage floor tiles.... then put the mat on top of it.

At my old house I built one out of 2x4 frame and 1x6 as the decking. All wood left over from the previous homeowner. When I sold the house, the buyer asked that I leave the BBQ deck. Pretty simple project.

And either of these couldn't feel the wood underneath that matt? Was just curious if I'd have to add another layer of something. Foam tiles is a good idea though
