Paradym Super Hybrid for the win!

Just wanted to give a shout out to this club. 👍👍

 

I absolutely love it. I have decent speed, but mis-hits on long iron shots can lead to significant drop off in height and distance. 
 

this thing launches high, lands soft, and is super-forgiving. I hit it side by side next to AI Smoke Hybrids. The good with both was similar, but Super Hybrid was soooo much more forgiving. 
 

Whats strange is, I haven’t seen it on any of the big YouTubers channels for “Best of” when comparing hybrids or fairway woods. 
 

I think Callaway made an incredible club. But it is a unique club, and expensive. 
 

final statement: it is not sleek or pretty, but it works!

Which lofts are you playing?

 

Have you had any trouble with it out of the rough? That was an issue I ran into with it, because of its size. But I have some Callaway credit and am thinking of giving it another try…

I am playing it at 24 degrees of loft. Not much rough around my course; so I can’t say. 😕

Tis a fine club. A fine club, indeed.

 

The 18* is a beast. Took some experimenting—tried it out with the stock Recoil Dart 75, my tried and true HZRDUS Smoke Black 80 6.0, and Steelfiber fc75 that I had around. All the correct length around 41” playing length. They all work, and frankly all need to be lofted up. I probably don’t have the swing speed to make the 18* playable at stock loft.

 

Anyway, in terms of balancing hitting off the tee and the deck, the Steelfiber won for the time being. +2/D setting, which is different from the +1/N setting I play on my Paradym X 4/5 hybrids, which are great as well. Don’t see myself switching those out for Super Hybrids, but who knows.

 

Anyway, I was looking for something different in that typical 5 wood, 7 wood, 3 hybrid slot, and I think the Paradym Super Hybrid fits the bill. Much better feel and sound than the Epic SH as well (the Paradym is not just better, but has exceptional feel and sound IMHO). YMMV.

 

Edited to add, on the question of the rough, even the 18* is playable out of the rough (lofted up as I said above in my case), so I would suspect the higher lofted SH could handle the rough (though again, might need to be lofted up). YMMV.

The super hybrid is kind of a niche product for Callaway. I think this would be the 3rd iteration of this club. Always super expensive at launch but generally finds it's way to CPO in pretty quick fashion which is where it can be found now. I have the previous generation Epic super hybrid but the regular Paradym X 4 hybrid I found to be just as long, forgiving & slightly easier to hit from rough. Looking for the 4 Paradym super hybrid to buy from CPO to compare to my Paradym X but not a great lefty selection at this time. Lots of right hand though.
