How many Mulligans for you to win?

One of my favourite conversation topics to aggravate my friends and stir the pot when we're altogether is the classic "how many mulligans would you need to win (insert tournament here).

The criteria of the mulligans are:

You can use them all on any shot, so can rehit the same shot multiple times if desired.

You can play the entire round and sign your scorecard before going back to redo the shots of your choice- so you can evaluate which shots would benefit most from a mulligan.

It has to be to WIN the tournament.

 

Can kill some serious hours of time going back and forth.

How many mulligans would YOU need to win a tournament- let's say The Masters.

The question isnt how many mulligans, but how many days I am allowed to keep coming back to try more mulligans.

I assumed you'd have to use them to get 4 rounds that "win" which is why there's no freaking way I could do it in the 4 days.  One "great" round, maybe, but you have to hit the tee shot of your life on a bunch of holes 4 times, not just once.

Yeah, I am not sure any amount of mulligans is going to accomplish the goal. Now, I'm a WRXer so, naturally, I hit my drives 350 yards on average (cough). But just for conversation's sake, let's pretend I can only hit between 240-260 off the tee...

A quick google says most of the par 4's from the tips at the Masters are in the 440-505 yard range. If I use enough mulligans to get a perfect drive in the fairway 260, that's leaving me between 180 and 245 left. I can likely pull off the 180 yard shots within 3-5 shots or less, but the 245 shot is a 110% nuked 3w for me if I'm lucky. So that one could take 10, 20 mulligans - or more. That assumes I can even get the ball there AND hold their slick greens. 

 

It's a tall order, for sure.

Yup.  I'm old and don't hit far.  The math doesn't work out.  Especially when you've got to play 4 rounds to win.

Yeah, after 4 rounds my arms would probably fall off from all the mulligans I would need. Maybe they can put the green jacket on me before they wheel me away in the stretcher.
