I spin the ball too little???

Ping g400 max - stock alta 55 stiff shaft

I've been playing this same driver and shaft for the last 4 years.  Don't have a lot of complaints, but I do tend to block the ball quite a bit.  I play a fade bc a draw is too hard to control for me.  I usually have to set up for a 10 yd push cut, but don't mind it.  It's the unwanted 40 yd push that kills me.

I just had a shaft fitting and wqs swinging 107-108 mph, carrying 280 and running out to 305.  The problem is I was only spinning it >1500 rpm.  I don't hit is terribly low, launching around 12-15 degrees.

I hit multiple new drivers and shafts, but could only spin them around 1000 rpm and couldn't keep them in the air.  Is this an indoor gc quad thing?

Are there any shafts I could look at with a different kick to give me more spin?

Thanks

Shaft only marginally affects spin in the greater scheme of things.. What lofts were you testing in driver heads?

Foresight calcs tend to inflate the distance for those types of shots - but it's not the reason behind you getting low spin values.

First thing to do with spin issues is double check the face impact location and consistency with foot powder spray (not feel).   Or get impact from GCQuad (assuming face dots are placed correctly and accurately).  Too high on the face can cause very low spin.

Next thing to check is dynamic loft.  More likely you have your hands too far forward relative to the ball position at impact.   With drivers it's more common to add loft (hands behind the ball at impact) and you may not be adding enough loft (not enough rearward shaft lean) at impact.  Might even have the hands in front of the ball resulting in the club being delofted.  A face-on swing video might show you something helpful.

If the problem is the dynamic loft:

Shaft changes can be tricky and unpredictable.   As mentioned above = the direct influence of the shaft on dynamic loft isn't really all that great.  BUT for some people, a change in feel from the shaft can effect the swing and delivery.  And that can be significant in some cases- although it also has the potential to create some other side effects that might be negative - e.g. face and shot shape control.

Head static loft changes will always be much more reliable but we only have about roughly 3* to work with (e.g. 9* to 12* loft choices) so even that will only do so much to help with is what is really a swing issue.

Never hurts to play around with tee height and ball position at setup up.  Just keep track of what happens to the face impact location and consistency if you do that.   It can be counter-productive if you can't maintain good center face impact.

Only being able to spin various 10.5 heads at 1000 is crazy, do you know where on the face you were hitting the shots? Something seems odd to me

Also what launch monitor was this on?

I deffintaley de-loft the club on delivery, but I failed to notice what my dynamic loft delivery was during the fitting.  I'm not worried about my ball flight, as it isn't a significantly trajectory.  I play on a course with a lot of trees which I have to carry, and don't have a big issue with that (though I don't hit it to the moon by any means).  I am more interested in finding a shaft that will help me with the big block that is my miss.  I'm sure a swing change would help, but would like try a shaft first.

I know I was striking it low on the head during the fitting at times, but did hit a number of them higher, which is where I like to play it.  I tee the ball pretty high to allow for that.

It was a gc quad.  I know that is the cream of the crop when it comes to launch monitors, but can indoor fittings be skewed at times?  I don't hit a low bullet, in fact my on-course trajectory and height are pretty optimal, especially for the windy conditions here in KS.

I wasn't really suggesting a swing change.    Just trying to point out the reality that the equipment can only do so much.

As far a helping with the misses,  you're much more likely to find a solution focusing on shaft weight, swing weight, and playing length than with a shaft stiffness profile change - unless something about your current shaft feels "off."  e.g. it currently feels too soft or too firm.    But that's just a generalization, everyone is different so you never know.
