Swing Critique Please...9-3 Swing Added!!

What Slicefixer has had to endure!!
I never thought I would be posting my swing here, but I've got a DTL and face on 6 iron swings. I've been up to see Slicefixer a few times and as you can tell from the swings he has his hands full. A brief background, I just turned 50 late last year and been working hard on my game the past few years. I have this sort of drop below plane thing going on that I think is hindering me, but then again it's always been there, it's just a matter to what degree. I know I have some more weight to lose, but for a short, fat, white guy I suppose it could be worse. I've never downloaded a video here, so I don't know if it's done correctly, so if not someone please let me know what I need to do. In any event, I'd be happy to hear any critique...and Geoff if you happen to see this your feedback would be appreciated as well. I am planning to try to get up there in the next few weekends.

I have also added my version of the famous 9-3 drill...as you will notice, it's not really in the "9" postion, more like 10-11, but I think I get a better rotation through the ball and I know my hands disappear much earlier than in a full swing (for those of you wondering, that is my hands disappear by waist high on the through swing, a sign that you are getting left better).

Be careful what you ask for, you might get some answers! :good:

Seriously, you are seeing the best, not everybody's ideas work together, getting some other well intentioned advice from others may hurt rather than help. Stick with what you are working on...

I LOVE THE ROTATION! Great job. I wish I could see some before videos.

Keep up the great work with Geoff!!!

Actually looks pretty good to my eye. Is there anyway to watch those vids in SLO MO? Stick with everything Geoff is telling you and you'll be fine!

Thanks...yeah ole slice is a pretty good teacher. As for the slo mo, I was lucky to get these on here, but I'll mess around with the videos and the software I have and see if I can come up with a slo-mo version.

Terry.......a good golf swing......considering where you were it's a great golf swing.......the only thing that's holding you back a bit is the "above then drop below" armswing.......which is YOUR trademark......several options for you and we'll discuss them the next time your here.......but, that's a great improvement......and you CAN strike it VERY well with "above and under"......LOTS of great un' have.....:good:

Thanks Geoff...so what you are saying is that I need to stay a little more "around" for lack of a better term going back, or more turning of the core and that this would put me in a better position to perhaps not drop so much under coming down?? BTW, I just got Hebron's book...very interesting. I will add my version of 9-3 here shortly...it's probably actually more 10/11-3, but I think I get better rotation through the ball...thanks for the comments :good:

Hi Terry,

We met down at Geoff's place last May when you arrived for your first lesson with him. My recollection of your swing back then was that it was aesthetically nice, but not very powerful/not much speed and very handsy/down the line with the release. Your current swings look like a big improvement to me. Your "9 to 3" swing looks terrific. You can use that swing quite effectively on the course as a 3/4 shot. As Geoff said, in your full swing you have a bit of arm lift and run-off that gets it a bit out of snych with the body turn, but a pretty good swing nonetheless. Looks to me like your takeaway is getting a little quick too. That can contribute to an arm run-off just due to momentum.

Good luck, and do whatever Geoff tells you!

looks good and a big improvement from what I first saw..keep on working..keep on rotating...if you ever needed confirmation of the "method"..one is wearing a green jacket tis morning..

as for the "drop" a great timimg mechanism as long as it does not get stuck behind your arse..trust me from somebody who knows all about it!

No way your 50...thats quite an aggressive move for a 30 year old! Good job.

Yeah, I'm 50, but fortunately you can't see the ball flight in the videos...it doesn't really go that far, but nevertheless thanks for the comments!!

Yep...I remember meeting you. I've been trying to make ALOT of the 9-3 swings and those typically come off pretty good so I'll keep doing that until it's more natural. It seems easy, but it's really not as easy as it seems like it should be...but I'm trying!!
