Need a new shaft for 905R

Need help reducing the options out there!!
Need some help..I'm hitting my irons and woods great and I think most of that is due to the shafts. I play with Bridgestone J33 with DG S300 and I use the Orig Steelhead with Memphis 98 shafts.

My driver is the problem child and I think I need a new shaft

1) Currently I play Titleist 905R With the Proforce V2 Stiff
2) I'm a smooth swinger
3) Handicap 5, very consisten swing
4) Problem with driver is a) An open clubface B) a pull
I figure I need a good shaft to help square the face (probably a more flexible shaft?)
5) Never been on a launch monitor but I will try to go to one if need be. I know my swing speed is in around 100-105. I hit the ball straight/slight fade at times. I have a med/high ball flight (which I like)
I hit my 3 wood about 250 to 260 off the tee and my 6 iron goes about 170 to 175...and about 17 yds when I top it =)
6) I am trying to square up my driver without changing my swing. When I hit the driver well, my iron and woods suffer because I get more handsy with the clubs but when I hit my irons and woods well, my driver swing sucks because I don't use my hands as much.

Also, I don't want to break the bank..under $100 please!

Here are some of the shafts I'm thinking of:
GD YS-6
Grafalloy Prolaunch blue or plat
I just started looking so any ideas would be great!

I appreciate all your help!

If you like the V2, try the V2 65. Plays totally different than the 75. GD YS6 is a good choice, but I would go for the GD Pershing first. Absolutely hands down the best shaft on the market for under $150! I have had a 905R with the following shafts:

GD YS6+

Aldila NV 65

Titleist Speeder

V2 65

Diamana Redboard 63

Diamana Blueboard 83

My SS is about the same as yours and I felt I got the best results from the V2 65 of all of these mentioned. I was more consistent with it and found more fairways. I could really feel the shaft loading and feel the weight of the head throughout the swing. Kind of wish I never would have sold it. GD YS6+ would be my second best, however I would really like to see what the Pershing in the 905R head would be like. Sounds like a club experiment is upcoming for me.

Titleist 910D3 9.5 w/Diamana D+ 72s
Titleist 910F 15 w/stock Kai'li 75s
Titleist 910H 19 w/stock Kai'li 80s
Titleist AP2 712 3-W DGS300
Vokey SM4 52-08 & 56-11
Bettinardi BC6 34" 343g

Thanks for all your help guys. I found out my swing speed was 105-108 and my tempo is not very aggressive according to the Golfworks guy. Ball speed was 148 to 150.

How's the trajectory of the shafts you guys are talking about? I heard the V2 that I have is a pretty low flying shaft but I hit it about mid range. I think the Prolaunch Plat or Red would be good as well as the Pershing.

Your ball speed should be better with your swing speed. You need to work on hitting the middle of the clubface and then look at shafts. It sounds like you have an OTT swing that is causing your issues. Fix it and then buy equipment. If you buy and then fix it, you may be buying again...

What should my ball speed/carry be? I'm trying to get out and practice more but since having a baby last year, I only get to play once a month and practice about once a month. No, no OTT swing, just an open clubface.

Ball speed should be 150 at the minimum and should get as high as 160. I was thinking OTT because of the pulls and slices. These things together almost always mean an OTT move. The pull is just an outside in swing with a closed clubface. The slice happens when the clubface stays square. If it was straight pushes and slices, I would think differently.

Send the club to Titelsit and have them install a Graphite Design YS-6+

Ah, I see. I should clarify, that the pulls are very very slight and rare. It is usually just a flare to the right. Wow, 150 to 160? I'll need to find some drills to work on hitting it square in the middle.

Forget the swing speed, ball speed, launch numbers etc.... That stuff is nonsense.

In your first post you said you liked to make a smooth pass at the ball. Good for you, that is the best way to swing a club.

The Graphite Design YS-6 is made for that type of swing. You will love it.

But, to have it play correct you need to send it to Titleist as their inventory of shafts is made for their heads. They will charge about $110 for the job, which includes a new grip.
