Can't believe I did it

I told myself I'd never do this, but I bought a TaylorMade 4 wood on Golf Club Exchange. I just hope this bad boy is everything, you guys say it is. They say it's in very good condition, which normally means a new grip is need or some chipping on the paint is evident, which is nothing a little nail polish can't hide.

I bought my wedges that way and I honestly think that a little wear is good for a club.

They are great FW metals. You should love it.

Also noticed by you signature you play the Ping sw. It is amazing to see soo many guys swear by that head as the sw of choice for them.

Some clubs I've bought in the past have had some use on them, like a few minor paint chips. I think it's good also, so you aren't as afraid to swing it like you would with a nice new shinny club. I can't tell you how many people I've met who've put a skymark on their driver or fairway wood in the first round they used it, and that stinks! Me, I haven't put a skaymark on a club (knocking on wood) since 2003. But knowing my clubs aren't 10/10 helps me to concentrate on my game, not on the condition of the club.

Used clubs arent usually a problem. The ones i have bought were no dissapointment at all

You can get great value in used clubs, the only new clubs I have in my bag are my wedges all the other I bought second hand.

hehehe, when I take a new club (driver and fwys) to the range, sometimes I tape the head especially if I am trying out different tee heights.

Just right before my dad sold his Ping EYE2's due to back problems, I snatched the SW and the putter DFX Odyssey. Hindsight is a @$@#% because I really should have kept them and sold my Tommy Armour's. He also had an old Ping Tour Bag from '87. I love nostalgic things, I wish I was more into golf before he sold it.

hehehe, when I take a new club (driver and fwys) to the range, sometimes I tape the head especially if I am trying out different tee heights.

Will tape - crown - fairway woods and drivers at the driving range when trying a swing change, or working out problems. Also will tape - face & sole - all woods when going to a course where their driving range balls are gritty because they are not washed very often and hitting area is sand base.

Added....
Every now and then will put car wax on the clubheads to help with scratching. Read a thread, last night, saying they wax their graphite shafts as well to help prevent scratching and chipping - something to think about...

When the season gets going again, I wax my clubheads once every 1 to 2 weeks. I've never heard of waxing the shafts, but maybe I'll try it.
