Has anyone tried the DCT putters from Macgregor

I have the Sunset model and it is the best putter I have ever owned. The insert is the evolution of Booby Grace's HSM insert from before his Cobra days. I would say the insert is firmer than the original Odyssey XG insert but not quit as firm as the new XG insert. They have a nice heavy feel to them and a great dark bronze finish. The Palma Ceia is basically the same as the Sunset except for the plumbers neck and a little less toe hang. These are great putters especially for the money ($129).

What is the head weight?

Macgregor told me that are around 345-350 grams. they use a heavy grip on them (Golf Pride V-rad) so you can put any mid 60 gram grip on and pick up some more head feel. The stock grip on mine weighed 82 grams.

Morton's Golg got me my Sarasota and I love it!!!! Best putter I have ever owned along with my Grace 7.5 HMOI putter. My bad tendency is to hit putts off the toe and putts still get to the hole with this one. BTW, Mortons did offer offer and provide free UPS ground shipping and the purchase was tax free at 129.99. I also love the darker look compared to the light silver originally shown on the website. The insert is not as soft as I was afraid it would be, which also makes me really happy.

Glad to hear they use a heavier grip because my only complaint was that it felt a little light. When I get one I'll probably slap a GP Decade on it.

Since the MacGregor folks have been good to fellow GolfWRXers, tried out their Bobby Grace putters today at a local demo. The DCT Lakewood I liked the most had a bronze looking head. Ran home to check website. The website seems to show these in stainless steel (?) only. Is this something new that is not released quite yet ?

Anyway, the heavish feeling head but soft (to me) insert was a good combo for me. My almost 10 year old Odessey felt harsh and light in comparison. The heavier feeling head maybe the ticket. I've always struggled getting the ball to the hole. I hold the record for 3 putt greens.

Anybody that hasn't upgraded in a while like me needs to do some testing. The new stuff must be awesome if this is any indication of what is out there.

They will have the darker bronze finish like in the pics I posted earlier.

The lighter color shown on the website is what they originally were going to look like, but that has since changed and I LOVE the darker finish!
