Adams RPM low profile

I am always looking for a reliable fairway wood and was on the Adams site and saw the low profile line. It looks like it is right for me (easy to get up from the fairway). I was wondering if anyone has hit it. I've never had an Adams club, but they are everywhere on the senior circuit so they can't be that bad. Current woods are 200 series, have tried to take them out of the bag but they are glued. Have cycled through wedges, drivers, irons, putters, and more putters but those woods are great.

Adams, for some reason, has been portrayed as the fairway wood for the Senior Tour, because of Tom Watson. I think this is unfair, but the cool thing is they are fairly cheap, and have cool headcovers. In addition, they have the 460 cc driver with moveable weights for $200 cheaper than the TaylorMade. Adams has many patented products and were the inventors of Tight Lies. I'm debating over a RPM or V-Steel 7 wood. Considering the RPM. Good luck.

Yes, I've hit it. It's easy to get off the ground. I would say, out of the SZ, V-Steel, Bertha '04, and even the Sonartec this is a player. Go hit it. It's worth every penny.

I wasn't being critical of Adams for use on the senior tour. I feel that most golfers can learn more from the seniors and ladies than the guys on tour.

No harm done. I guess I was a little aggressive, but you are right, I guess everybody can learn something from the Seniors. They probably have the same swing speeds as most average golfers. The problem with today's society is everybody has to have what the pros hit. I was leaning towards the Cobra 3100's (which aren't on the pro tour until just recently) or Ping G5's, I ended up with the G5's thanks to X-Mas and gift cards, but the Cobras were just as good, they just didn't look as good. My point is, even I'm guilty because I wanted the brand that was on tour, not necessarily the best clubs for my game. Luckily these have worked out for me. In addition, I think the seniors know something the pros don't and that would be that Adams makes damn good stuff.

I've had pretty good luck with my Adams fairway woods (not so much with their drivers or irons). I've had a set of Tight Lies GT's, and now have an Ovation 3 wood. I was considering trying out last year's RPM's, but held off. I will probably give these new ones a look. I took the Adams FW's out of the bag when I bought some Cleveland Launcher's, but the Adams found their way back in a few weeks. Good from the tee, the rough, or the fairway. They're forgiving, and get the ball up in the air. I have a lot of confidence in them.

When I have my Adams FW's in my bag and my Cobra driver, I just tell my oponents I'm pacing myself to make the Champion's Tour. They get a little kick out of it, but they soon stop laughing when I hit my Ovation 3 wood farther than their driver. :birthday:

I just bought an ovation 3 and 4 wood with regular graphite shaft ($39.99 new). I used them over the weekend, and although the weather was cold, both performed as expected.

I usually have a problem getting height with my fw's - normal trajectory is low, boring draw (or too-much hook). With the Ovations I got more height, and they feel good.

This observation however is only after hitting each one about 2-3 times on the course, and about a dozen times each at the range. I've heard others complain about "ballooning" ball flight with these clubs.

If you get a chance demo as many FW's as you can.

I purchased a 13 degree and a 17 degree Ovation for $39.99 apiece after owning a 15 degree in the past. The low profile Ovations hit high and somewhat flat. Very easy to hit off of the deck. I feel that the 13 degree is as easy to hit as most 15 degree 3 woods. The stock shaft is good also. The new RPM low profile line seems to be based more on the design of the Ovation than the current RPM line. The Composite top RPMs are decent woods, but many will agree that the Ovations were a better design. I paid $299.00 a year ago for set of Adams Idea irons that had 2 hybrids in the set. I purchased them as a travel and practice set.

I wanted 5-pw because I already had some back up hybrids. I was able to get full store credit at a local retailer for the 2 Adams hybrids in the set. They gave me $100.00 apiece. That almost paid for the whole set. The Idea irons are very forgiving and fairly accurate, Certainly not as good as my Ping G5s, but when I go to the range or travel, I don’t give up that much. Adams makes good equipment.
