Wonderfull course, greens were perfect as were the fairways. Front 9 had lots of big trees to work the ball around and the back 9 was newer with smaller trees. Price was awesome, $52 total for 2 people with a cart. I love playing courses where the people in the clubhouse are glad to see you!

Well I had the opposite experience at Riverview last week. When I first walked in the clubhouse, the lady was "yapping" with a friend on the phone for 3-4 minutes without even acknowledging my existance. When she finally did hang up she gave me a hard time for wanting to walk the course rather than ride. After I clearly refused the cart for the second time she said, "Well at least buy something to drink before you tee off." What????

Front nine: should have played it twice. By far the better of the two sides. Description as above.

Back side: fairways recently airated - which I can't hold against the course. However, totally blah 9 holes other than the a nice short par three with a thoughtful and unique green complex.

It WAS cheap...no doubt. You get what you pay for.

I know this is over a year old, but I had to laugh when I read it, and add my two cents worth. You've met the infamous Grace, the owner. She loves to see the green come over the counter. There are quite a few people that refuse to play Riverview just because they don't want to deal with her. Fortuantly her son Jerry works the proshop most of the time anymore and he's pretty easy to get along with. The course is almost always in excellent condition and not nearly as busy as Monuement Shadows in Gering(the other public 18 in the twin cities).

Actually the short par three with the good green is on the front side also, its number three. The two backside par threes are 160 yds(#16) and 230 yds (#12). Hope you can play it again sometime when Jerry is manning the shop and the fairways aren't punched. We play out there at least a few times a summer and its usually a pretty enjoyable experience.
