pga tour schedule shake up for 2007

hi all:i've been hearing there will be a shake up of the 2007 schedule with the players champs moving to may and a few other eventds getting a bad date on the schedule.does anyone have or know of a site with a finallized 2007 pga tour schedule?what bugs me is the tour event in hartford ct. witch always draws HUGE crowds and that i've been to many times is been getting the short end of the stick lately from the tour.just goes to show you that with so many big money events the smaller ones get a raw deal.just my 0.02$ worth maybe up to 0.10$ now :)

I really don't like this new schedual. It's a shakeup to get the best tournys the best players which gets the best sponsors which gets the most money. Arg. Now, golf ends in September, which makes me the maddest about this whole thing. Even I'm, still playing in September, October, even November!!

This new schedule should be great for us Canadian's. We have had a hard time the last bunch of years getting a good field for the Canadian Open the first week in Sept. This should really help out our national championship.

b-man, The Booz-Allen in DC got the shaft as well. It like the Hartford is a long time tournament that has done very well. Because Booz-Allen complained to the PGA about the condition of the course at TPC Avenel they got shifted to the fall against the Redskins and College Football. I'm wonder if the sponsors for the Hartford had some complaints about the TPC course there as well.

 

It's clearly a case of the PGA looking out for a FEW of the Big Pocket sponsors and not caring about the rest.

USA still has the opening rounds of the Master's, but it appears they didn't want in on the rest of the action. TGC has every tournament's cable coverage except for the four major championships (independent from the PGA Tour, therefore they arrange their own TV contracts).

Ford Championship simply changed names. It's now a WGC event called the California Championship (for some odd reason) and it takes place at Doral March 19-25. If you want to read the article on TGC about the schedule changes, go here:

Looks like the FedEx in Memphis is no more. That sucks, I have been going every year, and now there will be no PGA here.

 

No, Actually the St Judes Classic in Memphis was one of the big benefactors of it, they now get the prime spot of two weeks before the US Open, the spot that the DC area had been led to believe with a wink, wink, that they would get. But I guess those 10 million bucks that Fed Ex is paying to sponsor the Fed Ex Cup, got them, the prime spot, which I can't really argue with, I just hate to see the Booz Allen get the shaft so bad, as it draws probably twice the gallery as many of the other stops that have better dates.

I read an article this morning somewhere that the Booz-Allen people are talking about pulling their sponsorship 'cause they got screwed on the new date.

 

Looks like our Shell Houston Open is going to suffer also...now the week before the Masters.

CA Championship...CA as in Computer Associates - "california" :blink: Easy mistake but funny nonetheless.
