Srixon Z-RW driver thoughts

1rt

Recommended Posts

Just picked up a Srixon Z-RW driver (10.5 degree, regular stock shaft) and just love it. Seems to be just as forgiving at the Hibore xl i was previously using and getting a much better trajectory and more roll. just wondering what others thoughts are about this driver. btw: is this considered to be a low spin or high spin head etc.

been looking for other posts on the Z-RW but doesn't seem to be much info out there.

thanks.

Took one to the course and although it had a better trajectory than my R7 Quad and I hit it straight, it was not as long as what I had. Not sure why and I wanted it to be better, really. I think the head is great but the stock shaft was not for me. Problem is that I would need to spend $300 on the club and another $$$ for a new shaft too.

Good luck with yours. All that matters is that it works for you.

Well, my avatar gives a bit of a clue! I picked up this driver and quickly fell in love. I picked up a nice gain in distance vs the r7 425 I had been using.

First, it generated a lower, more penetrating flight that runs out very nicely. I also noticed the shaft is a good inch longer than than the 425, which definitely helps the distance.

Lately, though I've been struggling with a smother hook. Pretty sure that's my fault, though.

My drivers this year were the Hibore XLS tour and the Cobra L4V X. The XLS was a little to much fade-biased for me, but super long.

The Cobra L4V was only loud, without any feel and with the stockshaft super short ( no rollout ). Played the Cobra only 10 rounds.

Now I´m playing the Srixon Z-RW with stockshaft and after 7 rounds I´m still happy with this driver.

The Srixon 10.5 is neutral-biased, launch and spin is realy low and you can feel the ball-like a player´s iron. The stock fuji is an

excellent shaft and fits my swing. Very stable, not boardy and traditional 45" long.

The ZRW is more a "Player´s driver" with excellent feel and length and plenty forgiveness, but more suited for low to mid handicapper´s

Went from a Callaway Hyper X Tour 8.5 with stock shaft to a Srixon Z-RW 8.5 Kwok'd with a Whiteboard 63X, and I absolutely love it!

I am a high ball hitter so the stock stiff shaft was giving me way too high of a ball flight, so the stiffer/lower torque of the Whiteboard is keeping the ball nice and low.

My swing speed is about 110 mph and this setup is carrying about 280 yards plus roll!

Get your Srixon!

Yes,. this is a low spin head, it was tested in golf magazine or golf digest this past winter and it had great numbers. I hit one at the range and was very impressed with the solid feel and distance. It makes my top 3
