Diamana shafts

Hey all. I have a nike 4 wood w/ a stock stiff diamana shaft. Love the way it loads. Which of the blue red or white boards will play with similiar characteristics in a 905S or J33R drivers.

I have an 83 gram blueboard in my 3 wood (nike SQ 13*) and an 83 gram redboard in my 5 wood (ping G5). I love them both for different reasons.

 

The blueboard is so smooth and i can load it to hit it high or low and it doesnt have much spin. The redboard is great in the 5 wood cuz i can launch it REAL HIGH with way more spin and i dont lose any distance with the higher ball flight yet lands like a butterfly.

 

thats my opinion. i'm sure it differs with everyone. and it also depends what you use your 4 wood for mostly (ie fairway finder of the tee, 2nd shot on par fives)

Sorry man I was unclear. I want the new shaft to go in my driver not the fairway metal.

It all depends what your swing is like. The "stock" Titleist variant would be the Blueboard 65 which suits a wide variety of players. As a general rule of thumb, the Red would increase launch and spin, whereas the White would reduce launch and spin.

In a 905r I would play a Blueboard or Redboard, probably the 73s blueboard.

 

J33, I would play a 73s Blueboard

 

Both are pretty low spin heads...a Whiteboard in a J33 is probably the most anti-backspin combo I have ever hit

The stock shaft is a yellow board rite? If so this will play absolutely nothing like any of the 'real' diamana series. J33 is super low spin, 905R is fairly mid-high spin. As the guy above said, dont go whiteboard + J33 unless you seriously kill it, im thinking 115 mph +. Blueboard 63/73 + 905R is a nice combo as suggested above. Personally i would not go with a redboard in a driver unless you struggle getting the ball in the air.

Not really the same. 905S is deep face,centre weighted, shallow from front to back and 400cc. 905R is 460cc and much more forgiving with weight placed at the rear. See here:

Sorry i miss read. Yeah S is significantly lower spin than R. My bad! Still go with the blueboard, its a great shaft in my opinion. If you put it in the S and are still spinning it too much, go to the J33 as that should reduce spin even more or just put it in the j33 to begin with and go for that nice boring flight. Whiteboard in either head might be a bit too low spin but obviously a go on a launch monitor would be ideal.

Right now I'm running the 65g vs proto in both heads. would the blueboard spin less than this makeup?
