How do you all like my setup?

I am thinking that the 22 and 25 hybrids will be replacing the 3 and 4 irons. which will be plenty for long par 3's and long 2nd approach shots or tee shots for par 3's of 175 to 200. the Fairway for long par 5's Do you think I have my bases covered?

 

Driver - 10* FT3

4 wood - 17* Callaway X

Hybrid - 22* TM Rescue Dual

Hybrid - 25* TM Rescue Dual

5 irons - 26* 6 to PW PW is 46* Fusion irons

GW - 50* CG10

SW - 54* CG10

LW - 58* CG10

Put - SC NP 2.5

 

I shoot in the 90s and am trying to break 90.

 

Also are the CG10's ok for Full wedge shots. I was really considering the CG11's for a little more forgiveness on this type of shot. I can chip no problem but a full wedge shot can give me some trouble.

nice!!! why 2 hybrids??? That 5 iron is relatively easy to hit.

I replaced my 3, 4 irons with 7 wood. I still don't feel comfortable hitting hybrid...

First I want 4 wedges. Secondly with woods, I really only need one Fairway wood and a 4 is fair trade off vs carrying a 3 & 5 wood. The 22* replaces a 2 iron/5wood and the 25* hybrid replaces a 3 & 4 iron.

 

Someone in a different post brought up the fact that a hybrid will go a decent bit farther than theirIron counterpart. So a 4 hybrid 22* will go quite a bit farther than a steel shafted 4 iron 23*. Becuase of the longer shaft and the graphite shaft and the head.

Most hybrids I see in the 22* range are mor along the lines of 3 / 4 irons and in the 25* range are closer to 5 (or maybe 4) irons. For example, Nike bills my 22* as a 3/4 replacement and my 26* as a 4/5 replacement. But as my irons are a bit weaker than most of what we see now the 26* plays exactly like my 5 iron.

 

I think your 22* is closer to a 7-wood/3 or 4 iron rather than a 5 wood replacement, as most 5 woods are 18* and have a longer shaft. I know I get a good 12 more yards or so (if not more) out of my TM 5 wood than my 22* Nike hybrid.

 

Still, I like your gaps and your train of thought. I personally go with 13* Driver, 15* & 18* Woods, 22* 3/4 hybrid, 26* 5 hybrid, 6 (30*) - PW (46*), 50/54/58 wedges.

 

Oh, and I read that post about hybrids going further than irons and I don't totally agree. It depends on the manufacturer, the loft of the iron it replaces and of course the person who hits it. Some manufacturers may not give a damn if it is an exact replacement and others may try to make them a true replacement distance wise by making them higher launching. The truth is you really don't know if your 3 hybrid is an exact replacement for your 3 iron until you have a chane to hit them back to back a few times.

You make some good points. Although Ive analyzed this to death, I think in the end it's best to have lot of flexibility in the set make up. By the way I just noticed tha tthe halo's are actually marketing the lofts the way we discussed - ie their 4i is 25* and their 3I is 22*

Nice set-up. I hope you break 90! By the way the CG11 are not too good for chipping/pitching, but are great for out of the sand. Would make an alright sand wedge, but I reccomend getting Vokey SM or CG10 for your other specialty wedges.
