PIng Eye 2 + reshafting questions

Hi all,

 

I have had an old set of eye 2 + for many years and they have been mainly unused and sat in the cupboard, as i have been using BENI ISIs instead.

 

I would really like to pull the shafts, bead blast and fit DG S300 shafts in them.

 

They are currently fitted with KTM shafts. my question is are the DG S300 shafts a similiar shaft to the ktm with regards to performance, weight etc??

 

Will simly pulling the old shafts and fitting the new DG S300s alter the way they play, and more importantly alter the swingweight? I do not have a swingweight machine yet BTW. Is this just plain stupid to reshaft without??

 

I have only done work on putters previously.

 

Oh & I am in the process of making a spine finder to align the new shafts correctly.

 

Any advice on this topic??

I think the KT shaft would play a lot softer than the TT DGS300 shafts.

 

Why not send them back to Ping and get them re-shafted and refinished, they will look factory new!

This is the description from Ping

KT & KT-M (Stiff): Weight: 106g Torque: 1.9 Description: A mid weight shaft with a high flex point and stiff tip section. These shafts are most commonly found in Eye2, and Zing irons. Ball Flight: Mid, similar to ZZ-Lite (NOT available for new orders)

 

So it sounds like they perform similar to a DG in terms of tip stiffness, but are lighter. From my own experience I do not think they hit the ball overly high, def. not a x100 but similar to a s300. They also feel a lot lighter.
