I just wanted to spread the word on these grips. I know they don't need it, but incase there are some people out there that are not sure. They are GREAT. I just got mine today, and just got finished installing them. I can't wait to get out there and hit with them. If you are not sure about how sticky they are, they stick to the plastic they are wrapped in. They feel even better in your hands, and when you take your hands off NO sticky. Thanks to all the fellow WRXers that convinced me to make the jump.

Did you buy the real ones from Australia (The ones Scotty Cameron uses) or the fake ones from the USA?

 

I have the real ones on all my clubs, they are great!

I guess I got hosed then, because I got them from the USA. I did not know that they are different companies. They were price, but I know I'm going to love them, and isn't that all that matters. The price was not that bad with the discount you get from here. I did not mean to stir the pot, I had no clue about a law suit. I just wanted to let everyone know how impressed I was when I opened the box and installed them.

Be interested to hear what you paid, mine cost me $13 aus ($8.50 us) each for the irons and $14.50 aus ($9.30 us) for my putters. Those prices included shipping.

 

The grips I believe are almost if not identical so they should be great grips, esp if you don't wear a glove like me.

I put a set of the Gripmaster USA grips on a set of irons a couple months ago, and I'm very pleased with them. It's interesting some are calling them fake, or other derogatory names. It would be interesting if they would go into technical detail on why they think the USA version grips are inferior.

Prices have changed -- now the normal price for the original australian gripmaster.com grips are $20 us. But they are running a buy 3, get one free for a limited time -- still there is $9 of shipping for 3 grips - ouch - 3 grips/$49. But as everyone has pointed out, if you actually keep your irons for 3-4 seasons, they are of great value and performance as from all reports, they won't need replacing.

 

I was wondering if gripmasterusa uses the australian co as their supplier -- I know they had a lawsuit in late 2007 based on a patent from what I saw - but do not know if they settled matters. If not, is there a difference in the quality of the grips between the two companies?

I don't know if this is still the case but probably less than 6-7 months ago GripMasterUSA still had stock on hand of the Australian GripMaster iron/driver grips (which I think is what the OP bought). I also think USA still had some of the Australian putter grips for distribution BUT has been making some very unique grips of their own. I don't know if GripMasterUSA is venturing into making the iron/driver grips once their stock of Australian grips runs out or not.

 

What I do know is Harry (Owner/President of GripMasterUSA) is a top notch individual who I am proud to have done business with.
