Range balls

Do any of you club pros know approx. what range balls cost? The range balls at my course are beyond pitiful! I don't even practice there because they are so bad. I was thinking that if the club doesn't have the money, I may try to get a group of people together to throw in some cash and donate them to the club.

The newsletter from my course said they paid $.50 / ball last year. I don't know who supplied them.

One local course here does something that I think is really smart, which is taking balls that they find on the course and mark them as range balls. I actually like that because it sure beats the heck out of hitting rocks.

i forget where, but about a year ago i was on a site and it was about 20 cents a ball. you had to buy a minimum 500. more you got cheaper it was.

I have played on a couple of courses that do this, they use the balls left in carts and the balls found around the course as range balls. My course uses srixon range balls, not sure how much they cost though.

They are 35 cents a ball at my home course.

My local range updates there balls every 2 years and usually with top flites so it can't be to expensive

They could try getting used range balls from the bigger/wealthier private clubs. I know some do, most are 90% and better than the current...less than 10 cents a ball.

All of the Srixons that I've ever hit were very soft. I know there's a yellow one and a white one. Don't know what the difference between the two are, besides color. they feel the same. Actually, they're one of my favorite range balls to hit. They're nice.

I just purchased a case of Nike Practice Balls for $3.00 a dozen. (10 dozen per case)
