Pics from Long Beach Golf Show
Here are some pics I took while i made a pit stop at the Long Beach Golf Show this morning.

Enjoy.

Sorry about the bad quality pics but the indoor lighting sucked for my camera.

Also the DSG wedge was so shinny that even non flash pics were refelcting too much light from the indoor lights.

It looks really good though..

I also includeed some scans from the new catalog with information and specs on the high-bore.

Enjoy.

Is it just me or does the Hi-Bore look like a Halo on steroids. The Barry Bonds of hybrids. I love Cleveland though, can't wait to tattoo the Hi-Bore at a demo day.

I've asked this elsewhere to no avail - perhaps it deserves its own thread, but I'll try it here first...

I have not actually hit the HiBore yet but I have one ordered. While I do not mind experimenting, I'd rather get it right the first time - especially loft.

I am currently hitting a Launcher Comp 9.5* with an NVS and really like the ball flight. I ordered a HiBore 10.5* with a V2. Will 10.5 be enough or should I go to the 11.5? If it helps my average ss is right around 103 with a smooth, medium tempo swing.

Anyone here have any thoughts or experience with the HiBore?

As always, thanks.

Hi bore is a very low spinning driver while the Comp is a high spinning driver, going up one degree may/may not be enough but since your playing an nvs in the comp its gonna play even higher than a 9.5 with another shaft, so id say that the 10.5 with the v2 probly isnt gonna be high enough. youd probly want a 10.5 with the same shaft as your comp bc the v2 is a slightly lower launching lower spinning shaft than the nvs. probly not going to get enough spin to really get it up with the combo you ordered. id just get the shaft changed. hope this helps.

Thanks.

I'll look into whether the NVS is available in the first shipment. If so I'll change - otherwise I'll keep the V2 and re-shaft the HiBore if need be. I am more concerned about the loft - that's a little harder to change than a shaft ;)

Thanks for posting the nice pics. The Hi-Bore looks really great in these shots.

Perhaps it's just a trick of the light, but at address, the "scoop" in the Halo doesn't seem to be parallel to the face of the club. The effect to my eye is that the topline of the club (the part between the face and the scoop) is sort of trapezoidal shape. Just doesn't appeal to me, so I haven't really considered buying a Halo. The new Ping G5 Hybrid has a similar shape to the Halo, but it's parallel on the top rather than oblique. Seems better to my eye (and I like the general finish of the Ping better, even if it's $45 more).

It looks like the topline of the Hi-Bore is also parallel. Yummy!

I've heard for a golfer that swings under 100mph they would need a 20* HiBore to see the same results that harder swingers will see. Very high launch low spin head.

That sounds a little ominous... I want to cancel my order now.

That just sounds a bit bad for Cleveland to make a driver that an average hacker cannot hit. I can't expect that Cleveland will not make available a 10.5 or an 11.5. Most of the lofts on drivers these days are at least a degree higher than what's marked. There will be a third driver in my closet. I will probably reshaft it, but Cleveland makes hittable clubs for all levels. Listen to me, I sound like a @(!@ Cleveland rep! ;)

I'm looking forward to it and I'm sure it will not disappoint.

Well lots of companies make clubs geared towards lower handicaps (TM Tp's, Fusion Tour Series, Cobra XX speed). All of these clubs are more or less geared towards the better player, and instead of just adding more weights or setting the face more square of a "regular" model they created a new model entirely. If the spin is too low for the average golfer with the HiBore thats why they have the higher spinning Comp head. I guess we really won't know until its out and we all hit it, I'm just resaying things I've read on here, either way I'm buying one so it doesn't matter, lol.

Does that not say "designed on a 520cc chassis" in the brochure? By scalloping out the head they wont cross the 460cc barrier, but can make them even bigger. Pretty genious.

Do you happen to know the custom shafts? It says to refer to custom shafts offering page....

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
