Putter Restoration

what to do next

So a couple weeks back i was in golf galaxy and bought this never compromise putter for 8 dollars, i couldn't resist it was so crappy i needed to see what could be done with it... So after lots of sanding and smoothing (still a bit more of that needs to be done), but it looks good and i shafted it back up so i could putt with it and it rolls even better, but my question is what do i do next with the back of the putter where the plastic never compromise was? Do I just smooth it down, and let it be, or do I try something else, I don't know, paint filling the whole thing, or anything else anyone can think of, please input, I don't know what to do next!!!

how did you get the plastic in the back cavity out?

popped it out with a screwdriver, then i have been sanding to get the epoxy off, it took a while, that stuff was in there good

new black or oc finish. that would look nice... then maybe some custom stampings wherever you want.

Thats right dude, when i come back home lets flame her up it would be fun. then some custom stamps... its gonna be sweet.

I too picked up a used Never Compromise GM2 from GG on the cheap. I thought the gray material was some type of polymer/plastic and was unable to be refinished. It looks like your putter is all steel?

Yeah, i had always thought that too, but sure enough it was steel all the way, with a type of finish on the toe and heel of the putter, and what looked like some type of paint job that someone tried to do on it... Good luck if you try to do anything with it, mine honestly feels great, not what i would have expected for what it was, but i figured for 8 bucks, it would be a fun project

Good luck with your project. It looks like you have a great start on it. I am not a fan of the Black/gray color scheme of the NC putters. I picked up a GM2 #4 that is shaped similar to the Mills Softtail. I wanted to try it out before I sank alot of money into a genuine softtail. You've got my wheels turning with your project. I may have to go to work on mine.
