onoff forged plus vs. miura mc-102

Im thinking of getting a new set of irons and right now its between onoff forged plus and miura mc-102's. My question for people who have hit them would be how do they compare in terms of forgiveness, spin, and feel?

If your speaking of the Muira On Off forged, they are much more a players club as opposed the the midsize MC 102, and hard to come by as they were a special order item no longer made, per On Off agency here in the US.

I think Torao must be referring to the current 2009 Onoff+ forged which is not an limited editon item like the 247 forged by Miura.

i'm using MC-102 set with KB Tour reg.

Soft feel and launch high.

But I think you should consider Fourteen TC- 550 with KB tour.

I don't know about on off. Daiwa is the mother company of Onoff and Daiwa is specializing graphite shafts, not the forged head. Correct me if i'm wrong.

If you like mid launch, you should consider combo set like Miura Blade + MC 102, or Fourteen TC 550 + TC1000.

Correct...the 247 was forged by Miura. Forged + was not..China..but darn good China. :D I'm biased as I've played the 2007 Forged + for over 2 years straight..probably the longest time an iron set has sat in my gamer bag. These replaced multiple Miura, Mizuno and Tourstage sets. My set was made in the "tour' section...Labo Spec steel shafts. Very easy to hit, very forgiving, very soft, very workable.

You're wrong. :cheesy: Just kidding. Yes, OnOff is a line out of Daiwa. It was made to attract a "younger" crowd and also it's being developed for the higher caliber player....ie..Professional use on tour. Shingo Katayama is one of OnOff's latest signings. He seems to have done very well with them at the Masters this year. Roddio shafts are a subsidiary of Daiwa. Roddio is a subsidiary of Daiwa Golf Japan. Per Daiwa: " Roddio Pentacross is a multi-axial carbon weave made to minimize vibrations which transmit through the shaft on impact. By minimizing the vibrations of today's large driver heads, even off center shots missing the sweet spot can still be controlled and stablized. Carbon fiber is weaved in a four directional axis providing a balanced shaft with side spin minimizing characteristics and penetrating straight ball flight. It's considered to be one of the longest, most controlled, high tech shafts on the Japanese market." I've played a few Roddio shafts and have liked them very much. The biggest problem is if you're not into Ozik prices..you won't be into Roddio.

Since i can't find any of the 2007 onoffs im now choosing between the miura mc-102's and the Scratch AR-1's so i was wondering how those two compare...

I would check out the new 2009 Onoff plus. They are sweet. Nicer in my oppinion then the older plus, and satin finish. The AR-1 is a players CB and has very little if any offset. The better comparison would be the EZ-1 to the Miura. I had a set of AR-1 and they are very soft. I would get the EZ-1 in 3-7 and the AR-1 in 8-PWif you wanted to go scratch. But...the Onoff plus is just new and very clean. I am ordering a set and can't wait to give them a go.

Is there any way to test the onoff's before you buy them? Also I had a chance to hit the Scratch EZ-1's and the head seemed ridiculously huge so I like the AR-1's better so are the Miura Mc-102's as large as the EZ-1's?

Have you looked at Epon 501 and 701? Get a little technology working for you.
