Need shoe suggestions

Best shoes for a walker who probably shouldn't walk

I an determined to continue walking the course, even with a moderately sever health challenge involving my feet. I need to find the best (meaning most comfortable and supportive) shoes I can find. I need a shoe that will be available in at least a size EEEE as my condition causes my feet to swell. What would you suggest?

well if there is a major problem with swelling i would suggest just wearing a great pair of NEW BALANCE running or walking shoes. you can find a pair of NB with an all-terrain sole on them. Thay should provide more than enough traction. hope this helps. some of these are goretex also.

I have the adidas power band sport shoes, And they are the most comferable shoes i have ever owend and around 70$. I have bad knees and back and it is hard for me to walk. Just thought you mite give them a try they are water proof and very stable and are like running shoes good luck

I have used Bite Shoes for the last 12 years. They are wide and are the best walking shoe in golf.

Any FootJoys they have plenty of widths.

Adidas tour 360 in wide. The powerband is almost as good, IMHO

They come in wide as well for mine a 10&1/2 wide and are the best soes ive had so for for me

I've had really good luck with the Footjoy Contour shoe. Not awfully expensive, last a long time and felt like a nice, 'broken in' shoe right out of the box. Not sure what the maximum width might be, but I'd recommend them highly. Best of luck with your intention to keep walking.

This is what I settled on. They are incredibly comfortable and not as expensive as most others. Available in up to EEEE I think. They have made an incredible difference. I too highly recommend them. I wonder how many of us "seasoned" veterans would walk if we realized that our feet swell incredibly during a round and that wider shoes may help relieve a lot of the pain?

Glad you made the choice. I'm 67, walk over 65 rounds per year. I was having foot problems, (numbness in toes). Saw two Podiatrists, and BOTH recommended New Balance shoes in one size larger, (Foot swelling, as you mentioned). I have been pain free ever since! Excellent Golf Shoes!!!! Even though the styles are very good looking, New Balance pays more attention to proper foot fit than style in all their athletic footwear. I'm a former tennis player, and New Balance always made the BEST Tennis shoes!!
