Does golfballselector.com show bias?

Towards premium balls or any certain brand?

I am looking to find the right ball for me and just signed up for golfballselector.com. I was hoping it would suggest a Srixon ball, since I hear so much about them and want to give them a try. This is what they suggested to me:

I do not want to pay top dollar, so I was more interested in the mid level ball that I can get for around $25. I guess hot bite is the ball I will try next. :huh:

If you want a top quality mid priced ball try the TM Burner TP.

I think that if your swing stats are in the upper 90s and higher, they recommend that you get a premium ball. GolfBallSelector has worked out for me in the past but their recommendations will completely change whenever they get a new set of balls tested (once a year I think) and I'm not entirely convinced its due to technology advances. For instance, earlier this year, the Callie IXs were my #2, but now they are my #16th. Replaced by the 330-RX at #2, a ball that didn't work for me as well has the Callie's did. My stats have not changed. Same swing speed, spin rate, and launch angle.

 

I dare say that I do think they are a bit bias. For most of last year till now, #1 has been the Nike Platinum and now its the 09 Pro V1. If my spin is lower then I get the Nike Tour D. No matter what other choices you make, your number one will be just that based on your stats. For the year I've been using them, the most expensive Nikes is almost always #1.

 

Also, your stats play a MUCH larger role in your recommendation than any of the ball characteristic questions.

 

As for your list, try the e6+ and e5+. They are $25.

 

The Burner TP is a great ball as well. Give it a try as well.

Started to sign up out of curiosity...then saw the $20 buy in...figured I'd go buy a sleeve or two, see a psychic and go fit myself. Always somebody making a buck. Yup...I'm a cheap skate.
