Upro Course Capacity

I know it says it will hold 50 coarses in PRO mode on their website but has anyone actually maxed out their Upro? I loaded one coarse in PRO mode the free one you get with purchase and it said my memory is at 6% full. Now either the unit has some programs taking up memory or if one coarse took 6% of the memory I'd only be able to fit about 17 PRO coarses on it. Just would like to know from some of the Upro owners. Thanks.

I have 12 Pro Mode courses currently loaded and 28% of the memory used. I believe some of the memory is used for system purposes. 50 Pro Mode courses seems about right for maxing out its capacity.

I have 36 courses in mine and still have 20 percent left.

I've got 33 Pro courses and 14 basic mode, and I'm at 68%.

The courses are stored on a 1GB microSD card. uPro sells the cards, so you could probably use more than one card. It may also be possible to simply use a larger capacity card - they're pretty cheap these days. You can buy a 4GB one for less than $10.

Everything runs on the SD card so if you do decide to use a larger SD card (> 1 gig), you will need to attain the software from uPro to install as well on that SD card.

Is this the best course of action if you fill up your card with courses (50 if I am correct), or do you lose them once the card is filled. Also, does the 50 course limit include both basic and pro modes or just pro mode?

50 course limit should include pro mode. The question that I'm interested in is whether you can interchange SD cards to add an additional 50 which I'm sure you can. It's SD card based and everything is loaded on the SD card so I may have answered my question.

Has anyone actually tried to use a 4g or higher microSD card instead of the 1G that ships with the unit? I'm curious to know if there is actually software info loaded onto the card or just course information. Some traditional GPS units for hikers and drivers use additional storage media for map info only, not embedded software. Seems to me that if Callaway had such strict tie-in of unit to account but still allows using multiple mSD cards that the only thing likely to be embedded would be identifier/compatibility markers when syncing. Even then, seems like Callaway wouldn't want people to be able to access someone's course info if they found a mSD card only.

Anyone talked to Callaway about it? It seems like it would be much easier for someone who purchases 150 course downloads to be able to fit them on one card rather than constantly switching cards. Seems like 4g should be enough given the feedback, but it's better than 1g at a time.

I added a 2g SD, but I do not know what the upro will use?

Where do you go to see the % of memory used? I upgraded to version 4.0 firmware and when I go to settings menu/information the only thin g I see is an entry that says "Memory Expansion: Present. Also, how do you change the internal SD card? My unit appears to be a sealed unit except for the rear battery cover, but I don't see any card under the battery.

Thanks DW. I was thinking the capacity was viewable on the Upro itself. I went to the website and saw my stats.
