I won't be pulling for Reteif anymore

I don't know how any of you can judge these guys. We don't even know them, and who they are, so i suggest the judgements stop becuase we don't get to see them at the thankgiving dinner table, or at the Caribou down the street. He's a fine golfer and should be praised for his golf not speculation on his personality, because that is all it is with these guys, speculation.

I have to agree here.

We don't know these guys in real life, and you have to also realize that the golf course is his office, if the cleaning crew came in and started vacumming your office while you're on a conference call wouldn't you be a bit peaved?

From everything I've seen Retief is a class act and still one of my favorite guys to watch, he's not exciting or emotional, but he's an amazing golf and you can't help but enjoy watching people with that kind of talent preform.

But these guys, because of their jobs live their lives in the public eye, and they all accept that, and some try their best to keep their private life that, private.

There's times to ask for autographs, there's times to ask for pictures, and there's time to leave them well enough alone so they're able to enjoy a day out with theirs kids.

So you can't judge the guy off of what some guy on a radio said...

What if Retief new the distance he was going to hit the ball? I mean we're not talking about most of us on the tee box. He's a pro, who is used to having people on or near the fairway/teebox/green while he's hitting. Perhaps Retief new that the mowers weren't in any danger when he was hitting. I don't think he would have hit if he thought there was any chance of tagging one of the mowers with his drive.

This will be my last post on this subject as well. Maybe I worded my original post wrongly. I don't know how people infer this is a fifth hand story. The person that was on the radio, I think he said his name was Jason, is the person that was with the grounds crew and he is the same person who spoke to Reteif. I based my decision on what he said about Reteif's attitude and their conversation. It is hard to relay the credibility I heard in his voice in describing his interaction with Reteif. Like I said I always pulled for Reteif, and I know this is only one side of the story. Who knows, maybe they weren't supposed to be out there with the mowers until everybody was off the course.

Maybe I should explain myself better. If someone tells you something directly, then you are repeating 2nd hand information, if you heard it on the radio, it is 3rd hand information, and you are relaying the radios story here and that is no less than 4th hand information, but none the less, it is not reliable.

Have you ever been in a room with 6 people and one person tells #1 person a statement or a story? And in succession each person turns and repeats this statement or story to the next? When the original story returns to the originator, the statement or the story becomes quite distorted. This was the original intent I had for calling B/S on your post.

I'm in no way attached to Golfwrx, nor have I any special privileages or information but when guys come on with cockeyed storys such as this, I call B/S, and that is what I did, no more, no less.

Ummmmmm, if someone gets on the radio and tells a story that happenned to themselves, then we are all getting 1st hand information from the person at the same time.

It's kind of a lame reason to hate Retief, but still to each his own. I choose to like Retief for his game, couldn't care one way or another what he does outside of tournament play. I mean come on, plenty of 2nd or 3rd hand information that Mike Weir is kind of gay, should we believe that? Should we hate his game?

My experience with Retief was not a favorable one. He is definitely no fan friendly. After that encounter, I root harder for Ernie, Tim Clark, and even Rory. I think Rory is very misunderstood.

BTW: Did I mentioned I was South African.

You did not mention that you were from South Africa, but with the name of Springbok I could have figured it out.

I have to pull for Els myself. I have been against Rory since the Ben Crane thing, but I have him on my fanacy team. You just have to not pay attension to some of the media with him and his wife and just let his sticks do the talking. With the exception of the last two weeks.
