Shaft for 905R

Hit the V2 WAYYYY too low!!!

I got my 905R with the 75g V2 and I have come to discover that it plays like a board. My boss just got his R in and got a 9.5* with a X 757 and he said that our Titleist rep told him that the V2 plays stiffer than an X in the 757. The club felt like a board but I thought I just wasnt swingin well. Looking to reshaft with a higher launching shaft and any help would be great.

I have the Red Diamana 73X in my 905R and I love it. It gives me the high flat launch that doesnt balloon.

Another one of Titliest's stock option, the GD YS6, might be the answer.

i got the 75 S straight from Titleist and i actually am moving up to the X because the S is too weak. mine felt whippy to me. I would try the diamana, i have one in my other 905 and its golden. X flex but it is smoother than the UST.

The V2 is not as stiff as the 757 in the SAME FLEX even. I have both and the V2 75 stiff needed to be tipped by my clubfitter to play to my usual S100 flex. Either the Titleist head stiffens this shaft an UNBELIEVEABLE amount, or the shaft just wasn't tipped/installed properly at the factory. I am not a real high ball hitter either, and have no problems with the V2. I have it in a B'stone 460, which has a reputation as being a low launching head, and it's mid/high for me. Although I have a 10.5º head.

 

I think I probably had a very similar experience to yours with the 905T. I first had the 9.5º/Speeder stiff combo. While I did hit it well occasionally, it was a little too low-launching for me. Went to the 10.5º and YS-6+ stiff and it's a breeze to hit. Do you think you need more loft?

V2 is supposed to be a mid/high launching shaft. Maybe you should check the swing or the stance again.
