wow, I thought gandor's bag was sweet until I saw yours. LOL!!

If you have a minute can you give me a quick review of the old tournament blades you used to play? Are they as soft/pure as people say? I'm considering a set. I also tried the baby blades and could hardly make contact.

ps. what index do you play to?

thanks!!

No way. Gandor's bag is pretty sick.

I never owned the tournament blades. I tried them out but went with the VEGA T.50MB instead. At that time, I tried them indoors on a simulator and was getting better numbers with the VEGAs so I bought them. The VEGAs were awesome blades, easy to hit, soft, and nice launch.

I was happy with them until I hit my friends Tournament blades on the range and it was love at first shot. They felt great and totally different from what I remembered hitting indoors. It has a nice muted sound and felt sooo soft, like the ball wasn't even there.

When I finally decided to let go of my VEGAs (I had two sets, satin and raw), it was between the Tourney and Baby blades. I was a little scared of the baby blades at first because of what I read online but when I saw them first hand, they weren't very intimidating at all. I have always play blades and visually its what I like and feel comfortable with. Personally, the smaller the better for me.

I know you play with Gandor, see if you can hit is Miura's. The feel is about the same. The 202's are very similar to the blades in terms of feel and flight. You will love it!

I don't play enough to have a good idea of what my index is. I only play about 3 or 4 times a month. The family has jumped ahead of golf. Like everyone, I have my good and bad days. I usually shoot in the mid 80s and thats not because of my iron or driver play. My short game and putter is disgustingly BAD!

Thanks very much for your response.

I've only played with gandor once and it was sloppy/wet. I forgot which set he brought that day, but he would hardly let me even touch his irons, let alone hit them. LOL!!

Those irons shouldnt be played with, I would build a club rack and hang it over the mantle with those clubs on it. Love the hybrid/shaft combo. Nice bag all around.

Thanks! No point buying them if you don't intend to use them.

Very sick bag. One of the best on WRX.

Thanks for the compliment!

Going old school. Putting my 2003 Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Center Shaft Prototype back in play. This putter has been awesome since the first day. Not sure why I kept trying to replace it. Ho'ing is such a serious problem!

 • 3 weeks later...

After debating for the past 6 months and missing out on some nice putters on the BST, I decided to give Jimmy of www.bettinardiltd.com a call. Six hours later, I am a proud only of not one, but two beautiful Bettinardi putters.

I've never owned a Bettinardi before so I'm dying to try them. I can't wait till they get here.

I can't thank Jimmy enough for the time that he has spent with me trying to find the putters that met my requirements. Since I was new to Bettinardi, he took the time to explain the difference. My emails and calls were returned very quickly. It was great dealing with him.

First one is a soft carbon JAM with a sound slot. The second one is a tour DASS center shaft with a modified FIT face.

Definitely! Hopefully we can get together soon. Would love to see the R9 and/or the SuperTri.

And I am finally caving and getting an Adams Pro Black hybrid, not with the Fubuki or Thump though. I have a RIP hybrid pull that will go into a 20 deg head from Mike F.

You are going to love the Pro Black. Why aren't you going with the Thump?

You are slower becoming Mike's new favorite customer. He did such a good job with my current bag, I haven't had a need to buy anything else. I'll probably pay him a visit when the TM SuperDeep comes out.

As much as I love the Thump, I wanted to try the RIP hybrid. If that doesn't work out, ie. if it turns out to be a telephone pole and I can't get the ball off the ground, I'll probably swap it out with a Thump. And yes, Mike does great work. I am also going to have him set up a fitting/data logging session sometime this season for me just to get some basic Trackman numbers for irons and driver.

Thanks for reminding me. I need to set up a time with him as well. I've been so busy with the little one.

I'm thinking about getting the Thumps now for my hybrids. I'm fighting the left side with my Fubuki's when I try to go after it.

Thank you and congratulations! I hope you are getting enough rest.

We should definitely hook up on a course some day. Something in between, something like Lake Presidential or Bulle Rock.

That's awesome! Our little girl is 6 weeks and is only getting up once at night between 10 and 7.

I'm glad to see a scotty in the lineup :)

Ps: I hate you. My son is about 5 weeks old and he gets up at 12, 2, 4, and 6. I makes it very difficult for me to get up for my early saturday tee times let alone getting to work on time. :)

Hahaha. LOL. It will get better!

That is why I play mostly during the weekday and never tell the wife. She thinks I'm heading off to work. She is never awake to see me leave the house. I do all the helping out before bed time.

BTW, did you get your SuperDeep yet?

No SD yet. I had a few chances, but holding out for the retail TP or tour issue with serial. I'm thinking of holding off for a bit after all the reading I've been doing. Seems like a super hard driver to hit. I'll probably wait till Rio gets one so I can try before buying. LOL!!!

Oh, and I have my eye on another putter so the SD is on the back burner. :)

LOL!!! :cheesy: I'm pretty sure he will have it on the first day. I'm hearing 4/30, so just hold off until next Friday.

Did you ever sell the CT on BST? What are you trying to get now?
