AK's 2010 bag (New putter)

Recommended Posts

Epon, Geotech, Sonartec, TM, Slighter, Piretti, Nead.
WITB section is one of my favorite section of golfwrx forum, love looking at what the members are playing so I thought I'd share some photos of my simple bag. Enjoy!

Driver: Adams golf Speedline driver 10.5* comes with Aldila DVS 55S shaft.

Back up driver: Epon Technica 10* 420cc. An old driver, love the soft feel. But I might change to a performance driven driver soon.

3 wood: Taylormade Vsteel 15*. To me, these are one of the best 3 woods ever made by taylormade.

5 wood: Sonartec SS3.5 18*. Performs well for me so it sticks in the bag.

Irons: Geotech N16 forged blades 4-PW. They're easy to use for blades with slightly more offset than regular blades.

Wedges: Taylormade Z groves 52*, 56* and Feel golf 60* (my lucky wedge for the bunkers)

Putter/s: Custom made Slighter Seattle 303SS and Piretti Cortino FN carbon steel with hand blue mix oil can finish. Have about 15 putters but am only gaming these 2 for now. The slighter seattle is one of my favorite putter and the piretti is something new in rotation. The piretti has lost its amazing original finish due to 1 rainy day and my caddy forgot to wipe it dry before putting it into the headcover, I've removed majority of the rust.
sweet bag, that driver looks amazing,

what shafts are you playing in everything?
Thank for the nice comments guys.

My swing is pretty easy so I like my clubs very light with regular flex. I have graphite design pershing on the driver, graman lime on 3 wood, fujikura tour platform on the 5 wood, NSpro 950 on the irons and nippon heavy putter shaft on my slighter seattle. Dont know whats the stock shaft on the piretti, I sand paper the shaft to give it a matte look which is pretty cool.

Tourspecgolf.com has them too at a reasonable price but I bought mine at a local golf shop.

The piretti is nice too bad my finish is ruined when I was playing in the rain. Will send it back to piretti golf for refinish with a more durable finish and probably some modification when am bored with it. :D
This may be a DUMB question-but why would I spend $50 per head on geotech when I can get a Tom Wishom or Maltby forging for around $30? Remember ,there is no such thing as a dumb question, only dumb people asking questions!
Looks and feel are two reasons-neither of the companies you mentioned make a blade that looks like that. I can buy an old ping anser for 1/10 the price of either of those putters-would I? no. A better question may be why not buy a clean set of Mizuno MP-14's?

Well it all depends on what you want of course, If you want to play some real nice Japanese forged irons with super feel then GeoTech is a good place to start. Wishon and Maltly have forged irons but don't use the S20 carbon steel, they use S25 I believe. You don't know what soft feel is until you hit S20 carbon steel, and of course it costs more.

I play the Geotech blades because they look and feel great and really high quality as well. They also have slightly more offset than the mizunos so that makes them easier to hit for me(am a lousy golfer :D ).

Just noticed that part of your reply, have you hit MP-68s? If so, how would you compare the two?

I looked at these heads on that tourspec site, but it looks like the only come 4-pw...?

Man, those stupid Sonartec woods. I try, try, and try again to get rid of mine, but keep coming back to it. I keep telling myself I should update my 3wd, and I actually just picked up a Mizuno 3wd about two months ago, but the Sonartec has found its way back in the bag again. It's a damn shame the company isn't around anymore.
