I have been playing competitive golf since i was 10 and when i was 14 i was short. I was like 5'4" and now i am 16 and 6'3" and i grow like 4 inches a summer, but lately i have grown an inch in the last 3 months. It gets hard, because my swing keeps on changing because of my height. One thing i notice is that the taller i am getting the better i am putting and the further i hit the ball. My average drive has increased just over 60 yards in two years. Have any of you grown this much or a lot lately and found it difficult?

I've grown about 8 inches in the last yr and 1/2. Im pretty sure ive gained about 3-4 clubs of distance with my irons over that span.

 

Wouldnt you think that as you got taller, your swing would become more upright? Well maybe a yr ago, my swing was definitely a 2 plane swing, and now I'm a pretty secure one planer. Has anyone else experienced changes in their swing plane?

when i bought my irons i had them at 4* flat for mizuno standards and now they are 4* upright for titleist standard.

I have grown very much in the last years ( I'm 15 and 6'5)

It was hard to get a swing groved, but now I got a repeatable swing.

hope you guys don't grow so much. It's not great.

It is tough, I was 5'4" at the end of last year, and now I'm reaching 5'9", it's crazy, I had all my clubs built for me over the winter, and now I have to have my irons which were 1/2" short, brought up to 1/4" short, as well as my wedges. It's going to be a lot of club work, and it sure is a pain in the butt, but it has to be done. That is one thing that I am glad I did was have my clubs custom fit through all my growth stages, which has enabled me to keep the same swing, and just let the clubs grow with my body.

in 2 years, i grew 6 inches and 60lbs

I was 5' 3" and in approx. 10 months i grew to 5' 9".
